Participants Needed For SL Research!

Participants needed for an academic research examining social interactions in the virtual world Second Life. Participants must be 18+ years old.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine social interaction in virtual environments. Your participation will provide insights for the development of knowledge concerning virtual worlds.

Incentive: Each participant will be rewarded with $200 Lindens upon completion.

Technical Issues:You must be an active user who is already familiar with the world of Second Life and the user interface. You must be a user who spends at least 3 hours per week in-world.

Requirements:If you are interested and you own a human-like avatar, please send the picture of the avatar you are presently using Second Life. Images should be full-body clothed shots. Be sure that your avatar is face-to-face with the screen, that all body parts (including clothing) are visible and that your avatar image covers the entire screen.

You will be required to complete 2 questionnaires and take part in one in-world social activity.

You don't need to identify yourself. Use your SL name and email address as your contact details.

for US$1.06 most people probably won't care if it's sleezy or unscientific (I don't know enough to judge one way another) they'll just do it and get the money.

So that we don't need another 106 posts on why the exact same solicitation was panned before, please see:

and with the limiting of it to human style avatars you are being prejudicial towards a large portion of the SL community. I think all furry members of the SL community should send their thoughts to the public email or inworld even to have this outright discrimination corrected!

I guess we should let this drop and fade to page 2. Out of site, out of mind sort of thing. This is my last post here.
