new second life release client update

i get this error when trying to install..

error opening file for writing:
c:\program files\secondlifereleasecandidate\app_settings\mozilla\components\xulutill.dll

how can i get past this to install this?

also getting a bunch of other errors..

What version are you trying to install?

Have you deleted the installation file and re-downloaded it?

There's a space in the line you quoted in mozilla that is almost certainly not supposed to be there.

yes i deleted it and went to website to reinstall same errors..

Try this:
Open up internet explorer
Go to Tools > Internet Options
Click on the Programs tab
At the top, clich the button "Make default" the OK and close all that.

Then, after you install the release candidate, go back to Fire Fox and set it as your default browser.

What's going on, I think, is that an old copy of the client is running on your machine but you just aren't seeing a window.

Check in windows task manager and look to see if it's still running. I had the same problem, and when I killed the renegade task everything worked just fine after that.
