I have an idea for a book that i want to sell via the various websites that sell SL goods.

I could just write it in a note card but personally I would like to make it nicer than that.

What options do I have for this idea?

Also, i need it to be easy to read like a note card i say this because i have seen books in SL which your avatar can hold and read but you need to zoom in.

*BUMPS*

Perhaps I should post in products wanted instead.

Do you think I would get a better response?

I usually only visit resident answers.

Join some of the inworld book clubs and ask if you can have a reading at one of their meetings. Or you can sponsor one of their meetings, or both.

You can use ThinC Press, but you have to pay a file upload fee for each page, I believe. And I think the ThinC Press is expensive, as I recall, so you might want to hook up with a writers group that already has on for members to use.

There was a huge thread about this maybe a week ago that covered just about every detail as to why it's a bad idea, why it's a great idea, where you can go to do it, etc. I think the response was lackluster to your post because most people who want to talk about this are all "booked out."

I wouldn't want to read anything of length or requiring more than minimal concentration on a notecard. Notecards are good for short notes, they are passable for "product manuals." A short poem or short short story might be okay on a notecard. You may be better off linking to a website that has the text in html or pdf, rather than putting it on notecards. You could scan pages as textures, which seems to be inviting too much lag for the reader, but maybe it's worth experiment. Honestly, though, I'm not sure that Second Life is the vehicle to deliver a novel or manual or whatever. Though it probably doesn't cost you much to experiment with different ideas.
