Hey, my graphics are all screwed up after I installed an ATI Radeon 4770. I can't really explain what's going on except that I'm having graphical issues, like black lines coming up from my avie's hair when I'm walking, the background is screwed up. I was using an nvidia without any problems but now all of sudden everything is screwed up. I'm not getting any lag, the game still plays smoothly.

You might try Edit / Preferences / Graphics / Hardware Options and turning off OpenGL Vertex Buffer Objects. (May not work, but that's one of the numerous ways in which recent ATI drivers have gotten progressively worse.)

Might be worth uninstalling the drivers, rebooting, then installing the drivers again making sure no AV is running when you download and install.

or going from the other direction uninstalling SL and reinstalling SL and let it adapt to the new driver and redo settings.

Make sure you have the most current ATI drivers installed too--the drivers that come with the cards are often out-of-date.

It's definitely worth a try.
