first land + second land = wat

If I have a 512m^2 first land parcel that incurs no monthly charges, and then I buy another plot of land, then I get rid of that 2nd plot of land, would I still have no monthly charges from the 1st land? With first land being the old system where premium users got a 512m^2 parcel for free with no monthly fees?

what if I bought another parcel and joined it to my current, cost free first land, would I have the cost associated just with the added on parcel, or the cost associated with the whole amount of parcel of the 1st land and the 2nd parcel added together

First Land and the free 512 aren't related. All Premium users can have 512sqm free. First Land was special parcels set aside for the purpose, and cost L$1 per square meter.

If you have 512sqm of land, it's free if you're Premium. If you have 1024sqm, you'll pay for the second half of it.

The Tier of the 1st 512m is included in your Premium fee. If you have free 1st Land, under the old scheme, you didnt have to pay to purchase the parcel, unlike like those who joined later when free 1st Land was phased out. Other than this is no difference to the Tier. 1st 512m is paid already, 2nd 512m costs $US5 Tier each month.

Edit: Is a marketing thingy when LL says that first 512m Tier is Free or a Bonus. Is not really free at all.

actually the old first land thing you did have to pay to purchase the parcel but it was from SL for (as mentioned in the other post) 1L per sqm

(which is a moot point now, since first land no longer exists)

you are charged for the peak amount of land you own in your billing period, regardless of how many times you buy and sell land.

just look at your account info that will tell you

(if you add the total land you own and subtract the 512 that is the tier you will be at (rounded to the highest if it is an odd number) also if it is deeded to a group that will give you an additional 10% at no extra fee

if you buy another 512 you will then hold 1024 and will incur tier on that second 512. you will incur this fee even if you sell the one of the 512's seconds later. the only way to avoid the fee is to sell the initial 512 prior to buying the second 512.

no. you will always have 512m of tier included in your premium package. in fact, if you deed your land to group you get an extra 10%, so you could hold 560m of group deeded land for 'free'.

LL should really introduce 1st land policy again.....i'm sure it will increase subscriptions and Tier receipts. In my opinion a good percentage would convert from 512 sqm to larger plots as time goes by.
