Ok I'm stumped

I have two sims that are diagonally opposite and permission to build in the third sim that is in the way.. how do I build a bridge between the two sims so that when you walk over the boudaries you dont just fal through the thing?

Thanks!

You basicallyneed invsible prims linked back to each sim, and anchored securely on both sides. So one facing each direction, and overlapping in the middle. When you cross a sim boundry there is a tendancy to lose contact with each side, so whatever you are on will appear phantom. So if you have each sim with it's own bridge, it will basically catch your avatar as it reads the other sim when you cross into it.

so that is how they do it!!

cool

amazing the things you never think of
when I first bought land in SL, I was next to someone running a yardsale with free spots, so decided to use a bit of my land for the same purpose, cept we were on the sim boundary

never knew about the invisible prim trick till now, that sure would have come in handy then hehe

I haven't got it working yet properly cos it's a bit different with three sims

My theory is you need three bridges, like so:

abb
bab
bba

where a is the anchor and b is the bridge - all overlapping - means you need 9 prims to do it but if it stops ppl from falling through it would be worth it. I will report back if it works :)

I built a 4-corner intersection at the 4 Rutgers sims, wjich have a 4-lane street running down the sim borders, and an intersection where the 4 meet. You can go to RUCE 3 and look at this intersection, though the other three sims are not open access yet, since they are still being built.

Sim Layout:
AABB
CCDD

I designed a corner piece that actually had *three* extra prims, extending one each into the three touching sims, because I wanted to be certain that even if they crossed right on the diagonal, there would always be a prim t cross over onto...

So in the diagram above, there is a visible surface root prim at AA, with attached invisible prims extending into BB, CC and DD. A visible surface root prim at B, with attached invisible prims extending into AA, CC and DD. And the same for CC and DD. So it took 12 extra prims, which happened to be 8 M on a side, to form that intersection and eliminate the drop-through glitch as much as possible. For a three-corner junction, you'd need 9 extra prims.

The rest of the road sections at the overlapping edges also have a 1-prim overlap to the adjacent sim.
