So call me blind deaf mute and quadruple-amputated, but I can't find the policy on makin' a VERIFIED ALT anywhere... used to be somewhere obvious. It's USD$9.95 to make it, and $9.95 permonth still...or has that changed?
Hell I can't even find a spot to add an Alt to my Account! I'm talkin about a 2nd SL Account besides Xio, that I "buy" and they say you can use the same E-Mail address...but don't give the link to where to do it.
...anybody who has a paid Alt account, all info is appreciated.

YEah, just create a new account, make the email/payment info the same as your other account, and afaik that's it.

You just sign up for a new account...alts don't link to your main, except in that you can (theoretically) sign up with the same email and payment info. And, yeah, they've stopped charging the $9.95, at least for now.

They stopped charging a while ago. ...at ALL??? o.O Damn that would be nice. Now I know you can just sign up a Basic account for free cause they want everybody in the world ta' sign up & try SL. I have had a lotta friends over the years come over here & sign up...same computer(s)...same IP of course then in the LL database, since they were in my home when I walked 'em through the signup. (...and been lucky enough that none of 'em turned into "griefers" & got all the Accounts cancelled...I hate LL telephone support marathons) All I see w/ any actual info is this page: https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=4201 It's probably just another way out of date page in the Support portal, but they say you can pay $9.95 for an Alt...and there's a monthly maintenance fee...BUT they don't say how much it is. The link they gave for "more info" didn't either. I'm REAL skeptical _____________________

They stopped charging for alts about a year ago. I put in a ticket when I couldn't pay for mine and the Support Portal Linden informed me of the change in policy. I don't know why they haven't changed the information on the site, unless they're intending to reinstate the fees at some point. Or, you know, maybe just because it's LL...

I posted the above at the same time you answered my question BTW...nice ..now I just gotta go to the regular "Join" link I guess...heh...scared ta go to Orientation spots & ask a Linden...I still got an unverified one (LIKE THE REST OF YA! ;D ) ...and I read somethin' somewhere about future (of course they didn't specify WHEN) plans to get rid of all unverified Alts they find. 'Course we know that's gonna take a while when they finally do it...IF they finally do it...LL ain't got the "manpower"/staff numbers for that right now. _____________________

Hi Xio, the others have it correct. Totally out-of-date info about the fees. I have two premiums and two basics all on the same email and cc info ..... heck, even had 'em all at the Alt party the other weekend

They stay on your support history indefinitely, so if there's ever any trouble about it, you can just reference that ticket. _____________________

Yep. I just made a new account with the same email. I didn't bother making a new credit money setup. I'll just by L$ with my main and give whatever my alt needs.

I asked about that recently. The answer I got was that they typically don't charge it any more. They keep it on the site so they can reserve the right to charge people in unusual circumstances, for example, if they have a lot of alts. My guess is that they'd rather know which alt belongs to what user. Charging $10 each would discourage the honesty. And reading between the lines, I think they are keeping the fee around as an "annoyance fee" that they can charge people that are misusing alts, but that don't quite qualify for the ban hammer.
