Since the upgrade in Dec. yes, i've reinstalled (twice), cleared all cache, etc.

i use a MacBook Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2 GHz, L2 cache is 4 MB, RAM 2 GB, Bus 667 MHz, OSX Tiger 10.4.11

This is more a bump than anything else. If it were me, though, I'd try rebooting my router (and any other LAN hardware between the client and the ISP). Failing that, I'd look suspiciously at any firewalls that might be in the way.

Thanks Qie

Have rebooted my modem/router several times. Also switched from a wireless to cable EN connection, back and forth.

I have no personal firewall, altho my ISP (AT&T DSL) does. I have not changed service in 6 months, and this started with the latest version that I installed in December 2007.

Ironically - OCCASIONALLY - I can upload. Sometimes it takes 10 tries. Needless to say that is ridiculously annoying and tedious.

I know it CAN happen, just that it fails so often.

I've also seen the SL GUI fail me by only opening the browse window for a file or batch the first time I ask. After that first failure, the menu and keyboard commands to open the browsing window do not respond.

Same thing for teleporting. Sometimes I can do it, sometimes not.

I know other people are having these problems, both Mac and Win users.

This tiny bit seems to be a known problem, per http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-1095. Which, of course, does you no good whatsoever. :(

And I looked at other posts and recognize that you've gotten the same suggestions before; sorry 'bout that! (I was about to suggest deleting the cache folder altogether just because http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3862 got resolved that way, but see you've tried that already, too.)

I assume Barney's Mac version of the Nicholaz viewer turned out to be a dead-end.

It's probably a waste of time, but since nothing else seems to make any difference, you might try downloading the Beta viewer just to see if you can upload to the Beta grid. I'm not sure what it tells us, though, if it's successful.

It's really annoying that sometimes it works; that rules out any easy explanation I can dream up. :(

I know this is an old thread but I am wondering Victoria, if you resolved this? I have the same computer/ISP service and the same issue. I can't upload files, the process seems to time out. I also can't teleport outside a sim because I seem to time out. Can't save notecards for the same reason. SL version 1.18.3 was the latest version that worked for me. But now it seems that 1.19+ is required. Being a clothing designer this is a major problem for me.

Anyone else having these issues? More importantly, has anyone found a solution?

You can still use 1.18.5.3 with Nicholaz's patches...I am!

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.
