How to Set "Home" Location for Partners?

I purchased some land a few months ago and have recently "partnered" in SL. However, my partner cannot set his home location on my land. I was wondering if there is a way to do this? I know that I used to rent a house and was able to set the rental house as a home location, so I know it's possible. Thanks ahead of time if you know the answer.

Without setting the land to group land (which has all sorts of thigns to do first), the easiest is to split a 16m plot off and "sell" it to your partner. BE SURE TO DO THIS BY HER NAME ONLY. Make sure you DO NOT sell to "anyone". Be sure to enter your PARTNER'S NAME in the buy/sell field.

Sorry for caps, but this is important to prevent landbots from stealing your land in this process.

Once your partner buys that plot, they can set home there. Then, they can sell back to you, and you can recombine the land. Home Point stays where last set until set again.

The Set Home has been an issue for a long time now.

Be sure to go over and over and over the windows in teh buy/sell dropdowns. Read every word, and then read it again to be sure.

Or your partner can just use a landmark to get home.

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

transfer your land to a group you own and allow members to set home to that location

The easiest way is to set up a land group for the two of you, and deed the parcel to your group. Then the group roles can be set up to allow them to also set their home on that group-owned land.

Note that just setting the land to group, while you still own it, is not enough.

The other option, mentioned above, of making a 16 M2 micro parcel and selling it temporarily to them, will only work on the mainland if your Partner is also a Premium member, and has enough tier open to cover the purchase. On a private sim that trick will work fine, and they don't need to be Premium.

...for the tips. It seems odd that LL wouldn't make this an option for landowners (to allow friends/partners to set their home on your land). Afterall, if I own the land, I should be able to determine who can set their home location there. Oh well, maybe one day SL will do everything I want it to do.

Divorce him. Or ... ban him as you are talking to him or something - it is hilarious to see a guy go "zaaaap" when he least expects it. :)

The official Linden Lab stance on this is that deeding your land to a group and using the group roles is the approved way for more than one person to set their Home position on your land. I submitted a bug fix when they first broke the ability for multiple people to set Home on land owned by one lerson, and they closed it as "Won't Fix", explaining that they want people to use the deeded land/group roles method.

And Jig is just in a trollish mood today. Ignore him dear...

The Jira link to this problem is : http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-404
I don't think it will help much but add your vote to it.
