The internet was created so that in the event of a nuclear apocalypse, the military commanders and leaders of the United States (most of whom were expected to be Male when the internet was created) could have an uninterrupted stream of hot and cold running pornography.
While that may not have been the intent on paper, is the event of such a war, that would have been the result. Think of all those men, locked away in their isolated underground bunkers, living off dehydrated water and MRE's. They would have no need to "communicate" once the war was over and life on the surface became impossible. The logical result is that the "critical, unbreakable, computer network" would have become exactly what it HAS become.. a conduit for inane chatter, jokes, general entertainment, and pornography. _____________________

While it's true that once something's on the net you can't put it back in the box, with so much stuff out there, most of it just goes into a vast sea of oblivion, effectively

to quote Keven Kelly"Even a dog knows you can't erase something once it's flowed on the internet. " Actually, it is frightening how many people DON'T know that, when they should. Once it leaves your computer or phone, you've lost control of it forever. If people understood this, there wouldn't be any such thing as "sexting." Most people don't even understand the email isn't secure and it passes through dozens of other servers before it reaches your inbox. Absolutely nothing involving the internet is private, your ISP knows where you go, Google tracks your searches...and don't even get me started on social networking. Any detail of your life that you want private can never, ever leave your computer. _____________________

I think most people do know that their stuff can get out but they dont really care. 99.9998% of people on the net are pretty inconsequential to each other. Is a zillion profiles of a zillion people on the net now. You really have to do something extra-special to get noticed. And even then like for a whole 30 seconds if youre unlucky, or lucky if that was the intention.
Ya people should take care but even if embarrassing stuff does get out then we just another embarrassing image among a zillion others. And those who know us personally probably be more embarrassed for us than we are ourselves most times. |

FIXED True! There have been plenty of reports where techs at repair shops or doing upgrades go snooping around on the hard drives of their customers.... _____________________

I dont use a webcam, first of all.. I dont wanna scare anyone secondly they freak me out.. I always think someone is watching me... Oh wait.. they are... yeah thats why I dont use them...
However! I had a problem with a bunch of local kids doing some stuff around hte neighborhood, I woke one day and the little buggers had throws eggs on most all of the cars in the neighborhood.... Next day I put up an IPcam..... "got them" and finally had the proof to show their parents, See your kids are NOT perfect.. was a wonderful day. |

My "ex" was filmed on webcam by a "girlfriend" without her knowledge.
While I feel "somewhat" bad about it, thats what you get for being clueless & naive about this stuff. When I'm taking pics with my camera in RL, I make it Obvious that I have a camera so that those who wish NOT to be "immortalized" have time to get out of the Frickin' picture _____________________

My "ex" was filmed on webcam by a "girlfriend" without her knowledge. I have to ask, what are those quotes doing there? Was she not quite an ex, and the other not quite a girlfriend? I'm rather confused by this. _____________________
