My partner and I both have given each other the permission to edit, etc. However when she put something on that needs adjusting, I can not figure how to do that.
Like her hair, she gets new hair and it needs to be resized. Where and how, or can I do that for her while I am on my AVI?
Thanks

You can't edit attachments on another person.

I guess you could have her drop her hair on the ground and then get on a pose stand. You could then move the hair to her head and adjust it. She would have to take it back into inventory, wear it, and then adjust the positioning.

There are so many times I wish I could adjust the hair or prim skirt of another person. Sometimes I think maybe their graphics are so bad they do not see some of the problems with how they are wearing something.

She can give you her hair and shape. You wear them and adjust from there.. I have done something similiar before and it was quite cute watching my male friend wearing my shape as a man. They do have to be transfer though.

There is a system available that allows you to edit someone else's attachments. I've only seen it in a couple of shops, both hair shops I think. It's called Charisma, but I don't know if it's generally available or just through those shops. The attachment has to have a script in it, and the person editing wears a HUD. It wouldn't work for no-mod items, but if you have mod rights on your item, you could drop the script in for a friend to edit you.

Nearly 100% of all hairs purchased are no transfer - sadly.

From: Gabriele Graves Nearly 100% of all hairs purchased are no transfer - sadly. Given that most hairs come in packs of several colours, I guess they have to be no-trans or we'd all be clubbing together with a few friends (or alts) to buy one pack and share them out.

From: Wulfric Chevalier Given that most hairs come in packs of several colours, I guess they have to be no-trans or we'd all be clubbing together with a few friends (or alts) to buy one pack and share them out. I doubt that as most colours in big packs go unused. Also if I buy (lets say) a 4 colour pack and want to give one away, that is my business and not the concern of the vendor. Why should I not be allowed to do that? It has been paid for regardless of who gets it. It is more the copy perms that is at issue, most come with copy because hair is fiddley and mostly it is safest to make a copy before trying to make it fit, therefore transfer is out as an option for copy hair. However I would like the option to buy no-copy/transfer hair as an alternative. Generally I prefer transfer over copy on almost all items I buy, having the ability to choose between copy/no trans and no copy/trans would be wonderful. The amount of hair I have bought that I would to give away or resell is huge, most people are in the same boat I expect.

From: Cristalle Karami You can't edit attachments on another person. Not totally 100% true... But 99.862% true You can give the wearer a script to drop into the attachment.. which you could in theory control via a HUD or chatted commands. SetPos can change the attachment's position, SetRot can change the rotation, plus of course if your scripting skills are up to the task, you can add colour and texture change controls.. or even scaling. I developed such a "Remote Adjustment" script for helping super-noob customers get their attachments lined up decently. Unfortunately, the more comprehensively you want to adjust their attachments.. the more you're going to have to teach them about things like "editing linksets" and "inserting a script into each child prim"... and by that point, you're better off just teaching them how to adjust their own attachments.

What I do, when a friend needs me to adjust attachments for them, is as follows;
* They give me mod rights. * They wear the item, and stand on a pose stand, so their position is locked and I can see where the thing belongs. * They drop a COPY of the item on the ground. * I can edit the copy that they are not wearing. I position it roughly where the one that they are wearing is, so the two superimpose. * I have them detach the one they are wearing, by issuing the command in their inventory. * I edit the free-floating hair, belt, furry head or whatever, as needed. * I have them take it back into inventory occasionally, to try on.
Repeat above as needed until the adjustments are done.

LittleMe, I hope that when and if you ever see me in SL that you DO tell me to do something, or do it for me...I think my graphics are okay, but apparently I don't see everything....I can't tell you how many times I've had someone tell me that my legs were still dancing(or doing the Riverdance thing) no matter how many times I touched the "stop dancing" ball or clicked "stop all animations"....although it's SL and I hope everyone understands, it's still very embarassing.

That 'still dancing' thing is odd in SL and gets lots of us. I understand that it is a problem if you TP out of somewhere before stopping the dance animation - apparently others will still see you doing it but you will not and it seems hard to stop. That darn option on the Tools menu seldom works for me, but I do have a Stop All Animations object that I pass out to others a lot and it seems to always work -- you wear it, it stops the animation and auto-detaches. I'll drop you one for the next time someone says you are dancing and you can't seem to stop it.

As everyone mentioned, you can't easily edit someone elses attached prims but maybe this torley video might make it easier for your partner to learn how to do it themselves. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=pdtxr1nIiis

Yeh, if I look weird on your screen, tell me.
OK, you might think I look weird anyway. Weirder. If I look weirder than usual...
I had a situation a few months back where SL had a baked texture that had my shirt length at 0% and it looked fine to me... and even after I rebaked people were seeing it "cut off". I had to wear transparent gloves to force it to believe my texture really needed updating in-game. But I'd never have known if Argent David* hadn't pointed it out to me.
* No I have multiple body disorder, not multiple personality disorder, thank you.
