Age Verification is it possible?

I live in Australia, and I am curious if any Asutralians have successfully managed to verify their age?

I have tried each of the methods, using correct information, but have failed, and quite frankly, if any Australian Govt department made the kind of info sought available publicly I would sue their ass off for breach of privacy.

So, it seems, that I am left being locked out of more and more adult areas of SL, which is great considering I just opened my first kink and fetish shop and plan on much greater adult activity.

It seems to me that the current beta for age verification has been set up by USA residents who have no idea how to handle the remainder of the world, its legal intricacies, or nuances. Meanwhile any 6 year old American can easily falsify their age as shown in other posts on this subject.

How the hell does a non USA resident manage to verify their age?

Age verification is broken. Even if it works (able to verify on the website), it does not work (unable to enter parcels restricted to age verified). I am in the US, verified early on without a hitch, yet the one time I tried to enter a restricted parcel I was unable to. I don't know if people are actually even using it to restrict parcels as I don't generally go to areas that would use it.

Please call and make an appointment for the LL bonded representative to arrive at your house...

It still is hardly above water in the U.S. and assumes the kid trying to stick the system has no access to their parents social security number, or perhaps doesn't know their parents' names. As a result, it also barely works, if at all, inside of SL. No one really trusts it if they have any sense, even the ones that use it. May as well be just a button choice again and leave it alone altogether.

Where you live is actually pretty unrelated to whether it will work or not.

Age verification fails for a lot of people, most people i would assume. You just have to get lucky.

When I tried to verify I had to say which US state I live in. I live in Britain, so that doesn't make sense.

Was a temporary bug, if you select the right options now, it will not ask you that.

Age verification on the net is a feel good measure.

It really serves no purpose.

Because there is no verification of who or even what is behind an avatar at any time.

An account can be verified again and again under Bob's information, but his little 14yr old brother/cousin/whatever Tony can be using it

When the Overlords<tm> finish implanting all humans with RFID chips at birth, and all devices have a RFID reader to know who is using it, then age verification has a 80% change of working properly.

And will be defeated by hackers on December 13th, 2012. Which is why age verification online is such a joke.

US resident and had no trouble verifying on two of my three accounts. However, I am highly temped to just make stuff up to see if it'll verify the 3rd. It's been in beta for however long ago it was implemented and I don't see it moving outta that stage ever. LL has no confidence in it, we have no confidence in it.. only the internet/common sense impaired have faith in it.

Don't bother with it. You won't be locked out of anything. Very few places are even using it. It was just a knee jerk PR stunt

If you truly are being denied access to parcels because of Age Verification, you should IM the land owner and tell them that they should not be flagging their parcels because the whole thing is broke. I verified very early on and still get denied access to a lot of parcels that use that flag.

However there is no real use of it, it's flawed, and it's pretty much unaccepted. So why would you put your land into a ban zone, and nothing else this means, if you don't want to be alone only?

So today I wanted my friend to tp to a sim to check out a shop and she was not able to tp because she needed to verify her age. Now the weird thing is I had no problems tping there and I have yet to verify my age. So it must not be working properly.

It doesn't work properly. TP them while inside the place.

They will then be inside the store.
