Thanks! well I got a freebie radio you program up to 11 channels with a notecard, and anyone can change the channel. So maybe one that uses a listen channel (different one per lot) can be scripted by someone. Your tenants could then click it, and do say /7 music steam info and set it. _____________________

One of the ways that apparently can be done is by sub dividing the land? Has anyone experience with this?

One of the ways that apparently can be done is by sub dividing the land? Has anyone experience with this? tia There's the crux of the issue. Each parcel can have its own individual media stream (and any tuner worth its salt will work even on rented land, if the tuner is deeded to the land ownership group or in your case owned outright by you) but you can't have more than one stream going to multiple apartments or such on a single parcel. So yes, you'll need to subdivide. Someone else can explain the procedure better, but I thought it worth underlining the fact that YES, you are on the right track here ![]() BTW it is also possible for an individual avatar to have a personal stream sent *just to them*, but that's not as commonly known or used and isn't done often since much of the fun of listening to music in SL is sharing it with friends - and in that case none of your friends would be hearing the same music as you. _____________________

hmm.. ok..since one actually isnt using SL to get the stream, SL is just providing the path, not the source, then its abitary what the landlord provides..or not..? you could provide a notecard.. but one isnt governed by it.. use itunes or media player and you can listen to, or watch what you want, it doesnt stop SL sounds reaching you.. ie you can run itunes and recieve stuff from SL at the same time..
even if its two seperate music sources playing together at the same time.it perhaps is only an issue when two folks in the same land space want to listen to the same thing.. a notecard with an addy on it.. or a prim with a touch to play is a simple solution.. example: this is a shoutcast play list.. one can get them using itunes.. its downloaded on demand.. this list is what this one is playing, i just opened it with notepad and pasted that, so you can see it here.. if i want to listen to this playlist, i dont have to open itunes.. i just click on the icon containing this list, on my desktop.. itunes opens it.. starts playing..
