I have deeded my plot of 17,920 m2 to a Group which I own (and I am the ONLY contributor in the group).

On my account (here on th SL website, under 'group owned land' it says my contribution is 17,362 m2 (that's my total donated square metres).

Given that this group owned land is ALL the land I have in SL, which monthly tier should I be in? (given that there's supposedly a 10% bonus for group owned land) I WANT to stay within the 1/4 sim tier - so if I am over that - then how much is the limit with Group owned land?

( I cannot tell right now what tier I am actually in because my PEAK land use for this month was around 22,000 m2 - but i'd like to know where i stand based on the figures above)

Thanks

You are in the 1/2 sim tier (32768) because you are _contributing_ 17362, which means that you (the individual) must have it available to contribute.

To benefit from the bonus, you would need to contribute only 16384, and the bonus will then make the "available land" figure for the group become 18022.

Alternately you could select the "Land Use Fees" link on the bottom right-side of your account page, there will be a radio button, infront of your current tier-level.

ok - I am still a bit confused by all this.....

the Group's ONLY contributor is me..... so how large can my group-owned plot of land be for me to stay within 1/4 sim tier? Is it 16,384 or 16,384 + 10% of 16,384??

that would be 16.384 + your 512 bonus, so 16.896

lol sorry. the bonus is a land-bonus, so you can hold 16.896 + 10% ~ 18585sqm

so you should be able to tier-down, using the link above
*if you should hold more land, the button would be unselectable*

The group's total land allowance is (sum of all contributions * 110%)

So if you contribute 16384, the group will have 18022sqm of land available.

As has been mentioned here, you can also contribute your premium 512 while remaining on the 16384 tier, so you can contribute 16896sqm and have 18585sqm available to the group.

However if you personally contribute 17920sqm, the group will have 19712sqm available but you will be in the 32768sqm tier because you as an individual contributed more than 16896sqm.

The fact that you are the only contributor of land to the group doesn't make any difference to anything, AFAIK.

hmm - no - this all makes no sense to me still i'm afraid!!

I have just trimmed my land down to 16,896 but when i look in the group info it says my contribution is 17362!!! What's that all about!!!??

In a nutshell - I can't have a group-owned plot bigger than 16,896 if i want to stay within 1/4 sim tier, can I?

This is a very common source of problems: Removing land from a group _doesn't_ automatically remove tier contribution. The tier contribution stays with the group, so that you can use it for group land you buy in the future. If you want to remove the contribution, you must do it by editing the number in the "your contribution" box.

You cannot contribute more than 16896sqm of tier to the group while remaining on the 16384sqm tier, but your contribution of 16896sqm should allow the group to actually support 18585sqm because of the 10% bonus. The 10% bonus does not have to be contributed by anyone, it just appears by magic in the accounting between the "contributions" and the "land available" figures.
