My original post on this kinda got buried in the middle of another thread.

The last group shopping trip was so much fun, I think we should do it again! So:

SHOPPING TRIP
Goal: Winter Clothes
Date: Thursday, November 15, unless everybody tells me that's not good.
Time: About 6 pm SLT, ditto.
Where: Assemble at the Forum Hangout. Latecomers can track us through the Cartel Group Chat.
Who: Anybody!
What to Bring: A landmark or two for likely-looking stores, and plenty of $L!

Oh...we ought to have an afterparty too. The Hangout's fine, but maybe Mily or someone else with a snowy sim could provide an appropriate setting?

Sweaters? I don't have any sweaters. I love good sweaters. Thick cozy ones would be nice....except when I'm at home in my seaside desert garden! :)

You should talk to Sally (Silvera). She sent me a great sweater the other day.

She's the reason I never (The Lord be priased) ever have to go shopping. She uses me as her guinea pig:)

I don't think I'll be able to go at the time, but can maybe make the next one. Thanks for the invite, Lindal. Simone is having a great sale right now, all through November, actually, if you like her stuff. Check it out. You have to hover over the items to see the price, but A LOT of her stuff is on sale for 100L or less. I spent 1000L there, and normally you can only get a few things for that price, and if you're buying gowns, you can only get 1 or 2. I bought 10 different items, including some really nice gowns. In her casual clothes section, she has some nice sweaters and jeans.
(and not I'm not her alt, nor do I work for her......lol. Just really like her stuff)

Lindal - Thanks for the invite and definitely send one again the next time you all go out shopping. I won't be able to make this one :( as I have a b-day dinner to attend in RL at that time tomorrow.

If someone wants to, maybe take landmarks of all the really good places you find. Then put them all in a notecard and send it out to the group.

I was going to suggest a lingerie shopping trip for the next one... but then I started to worry about appearing to have a one track mind.

Hmmm. A thread about shopping addiction directly below (until I hit the submit button) a thread about internet addiction. An addiction within an addiction. I wonder if I can get a bulk rate on treatment?

Actually, this sounds like fun, but, ironically, I'm attending a reception/private opening of a huge retail store in RL. lol - My shopping trip is catered and might even have live music.

Well, OK. We seem to be getting a lot more "sorry, can't make it" responses than "I'll be there!" ones.

Let's try a different date and time.

How do you feel about Sunday, November 18, at 8 a.m. SLT? Does that work better for more people?

Who is playing Trout? Chuck Mangione? I think he plays most of the Megalomart openings.

Who is playing Trout? I didn't even know we were making a movie! Can I have George Clooney instead of Chuck Mangione. Neither one looks particularly like me, but women tend to like Clooney much more than Mangione - Clooney is dreamy.

It's not a Megalomart, but since it's catered, I don't care if it's a petrified turd and used beanie baby store. Free food!

I ..just.. can't .. make... myself.... do ... the ...winter... thing.. in.. SL

I look outside in anticipation of our first snowstorm and the fact I will be the one shovelling it for hours probably (everyone else is to lazy and just carvs a wee path to the street or the car)

In SL I go for the tropics and tropical settings cause its something which i can't see for 2/3'rd of the year :)

So I will uh try to stop shivering and having winter flashbacks and back slowly from the thread and leave you to your winter shoppping

(although sweaters is something i was thinking of making for the sproting crowd cause it seems kinda fun that is as far as i will go towards being wintery.. wont even put one on they make me itchy...)

goes to find his sweatshirt and jeans and turns up the sun in second life to extra hot today :P
