Hi guys!

I know I used to do this but have forgotten how........

Temporarily removing the view of water so that I can terraform and then with a press of the key the water is back....

Any help gratefully received...before I have to don scuba gear and get down there with my spade!!

Advanced menu > Rendering > Types > Water

If you don't have the Advanced menu, press ctrl-d (I think that's the key combination).

Ctrl/Alt/Shift/d for the Advanced menu

Control-Alt-D is sufficient if using Windows.

if you like keyboard controls and you are on windows, try...

ctrl+alt+shft+7

change the number at the end to do all manners of things.. you can derender prims, clouds, trees, land cover etc that way. I find it easier than menu use.. but i like my keyboard shortcuts :)

Actually, I think we'll have a better chance of winning the lottery than figuring out the information from the Lindens.

Curious about the Emerald Viewer and all the features?

I love the Derender ability - I just wish that Emerald didn't cause me the crashing issues that it does.

I wasn't actually talking about the emerald derender.. although i like it :)

You can, with the normal Sl viewer and shortcuts, derender things. When i was on my old computer, i would log in, turn off linden trees, and clouds just to help with speed. I dont have that issue now, but that was long long before emerald :)

Ah okay. The nice thing about the Emerald derender feature is that I can just eliminate the single avatar or item that is messing up a picture shot. In the regular viewer, I can either derender all trees or use the 'Hide Selected' option for editing, but most of the time, editing something will mess up the avatar's stance or view.

Nods. If I am on my ancient laptop and want to go to a meeting, I turn off avatar rendering. It speeds things up amazingly.
