Surely there are other legal forms of identifcation in the EU. I believe the forms of age verication being a drivers license or passport are the preferred forms.........not the only forms.

This is NOT hard, enter anything you like for driving license.
You don't *seriously* think that there's any link to ANY database outside the US do you?
This whole exercise is a pointless waste of time, as is banning only English language words from search. Just go multilingual.

From: JeanGenie Jewell Social security? or the thing you have in Uk for the national health service is ok also.. The only 2 option you get when yo select UK on the drop down tab is driving licence and passport, A social Security number would worl as the first 2 letters at the start represent the year you where born.

To believe that the agency that LL uses, could possibly have such links to query all these worldwide databases is just naive. Most countries govenment departments can't even achieve that to talk between themselves!

You can also verify by a ticket.
Just scan your ID card or some other id telling your age and add the scanned file to a ticket.

You can verify your account by registering a payment method (CC or paypal), either on your account page or through Xstreet SL.

From: Kel Mefusula noted your suggestion and ignoring it id rather do things by the book im a sucker that way Your choice of course but why? Why give them anything you don't have to? It's not as if they're legally entitled to it. What good does giving a driving license number give whether it's real or ficticious? In the UK you can have a driving licence at age 16 so straight away that has totally broken the age assertion system. I call it that because it's NOT a verification system. Verification would require some action on their part, there is none. I assert again, outside of any database that is coupled, there is no need, nor advantage to provide anything real. The object of this is to access adult content, you get nothing in return by providing valid information versus false. All the computer software does is check that you haven't entered 123456789 or similar, entering anything more valid than random digits is just you wasting your time bothering with. Feed it anything, it's happy, you get the content you want, everyone's happy, job done.

Just to add to this, in the UK a child can no longer travel on an adult Passport. So anybody over the age of about a month (the time it takes to get one) could have a passport.

From: someone In the UK you can have a driving licence at age 16 But only for small motorcycles and for farm tractors, I believe. However, your date of birth is recorded on the licence and the verification system might pick that up. Isn't the legal driving age in some US states 14 or 15?

I'm not disputing that, what i'm saying is that asking for and providing a driving licence number, for people OUTSIDE THE US is meaningless because:- a) You can have one before 18 (UK) b) THERE ... IS ... NO ... LINK ... BETWEEN ... THE ... DATABASES!!!!!!!! None, zero, nothing, stick what you like in, it says "thanks for verifying". It should really say, "thanks for typing in any number, we couldn't care less about because we can't connect to that database to check" It's too funny, the effort that people are going to, in order to provide data which isn't needed and never checked.

provisional licences (which carry the same number as your full licence if you ever get one) are probably still cheaper than passports?

Isn't the legal driving age in some US states 14 or 15? Generally 16, but the point of using driver's licenses is that they include date of birth as part of the database info.

From: Conifer Dada So if you type in any number it will verify you? Not *any* number, it checks for obvious wrong ones like 123456789, 111111111 etc but YES, just put in any suitably junk number and it's happy. They have NO link to these databases of the other 194 or so countries around the world thus entering anything other than rubbish is little more than an effort in self futility. Try it, create an alt, pick a country, pick a method, type in junk, welcome to age assertion. It's about as useful as a chocolate teapot and so i'd expect it to be, given that all that is required on xstreet is for someone to click a dialog box that says "Yes, I am 18" when prompted in order to see mature content and that LL owned site is considered compliant. This is not a government organisation, I can't understand the desire to offer up information that is not needed. Same as the word filter, English words only? what a farce.

From: Conifer Dada Isn't the legal driving age in some US states 14 or 15? I can't speak for all states, but in the state where I live, teens can take drivers' education class at 14 1/2. They then get a learners permit or provisional drivers' license (not sure of the exact term, but I expect I will be shortly...) so that they can drive with an adult licensed driver in the car with them. They have that for a year, and then they can get a full license. As DanielRavenNest pointed out, though, the date of birth is printed on the license, so it is a way to verify age.
