Having Trouble Editing Objects In Skybox

I just purchased a new skybox and for some reason (maybe it's just an issue today?) each time I go to edit (move) an item, it keeps throwing the item either out of the skybox or down into the level below where I am (it has 2 levels and a roof garden).

Once the item is outside the skybox, or on the other level it won't allow me to move it back to where I need it. I then have to delete it and return it to inventory and place it again but this is of no use anyway because it does not settle the problem of placement. My main problem has been an expensive fountain pool with windchimes I bought a while ago that is a bit delicate in the set up (water has to be tweaked a bit once rezzed, with a sound effect to boot which can only be found when viewed "transparent";). This is making me go bonkers to say the least.

Could this be an issue today perhaps? I have noticed some odd things going on or could it be something about the height I'm at? Have other people noticed these things happening in skyboxes? My other skybox never has this happen before, but it also wasn't quite this high up - I'm now nearly at 800 meters, but that does not seem like it's all that much.

Ideas?

Type in numbers, Elora, for the coordinates.

Ok here they are:

1st Floor: I just also found out that I can edit objects on this floor.

x = 100.093
y = 203.964
z = 770.909

2nd Floor: Can't edit on 2nd floor

x - 100.093
y = 203.965
z = 779.871

Roof: Can't edit on roof
x = 100.093
y = 203.965
z = 779.871

Okay, I see. Are you using the RC? Or the standard viewer? The standard viewer doesn't allow you to take objects above 768, and your second floor & roof may be too high up.

Standard viewer, I'm sure. My laptop isn't the best and I can't run any of the other viewers, as far as I'm aware. I guess I'll have to bring it down somewhat. Thanks Cristalle. Do you have a suggestion what I should bring it down to, the highest I can keep it at?

If you keep things around 750 you should be safe. Or you could run Nicholaz EC-f, which corrects the problem and allows you to build all the way up to 4096.

Try the Bleeding Edge. Just click the link and download, the instructions will tell you what to do. It's very easy.

I dont know what the actual answer is.. I just know LLs response was at best...flaccid.

That's a very good way to put it, and now I know why we still haven't seen the promised blog entry...

...the Lindens are still waiting for their shipment of Lie-agra to come in to firm up their flaccid reasoning.

use the RC, standard viewer still will not support above the 700ish mark
I found this out the hard way :(

oh, you can't use the RC, I think 768 is the max height that the standard supports, so maybe work at 700 just to be safe

It will if you use Nicholaz's viewer patch.

The standard client only allows building to 768 Meters. The Nickolaz patched version and the 1.20 Release Candidata can both build normally to as high as 4096 Meters.

WARNING: If anyone using an older client goes to a build that is higher than 768 Meters, and moves any prims that were placed there with the 1.20 RC or patched Nickolaz versions, those moved prims will snap back down to 768 Meters. Lock them, to prevent them being moved.

I'm just saying, if YOU want to go over the 768m mark, you can...I wasn't speaking in terms of 'everyone.'

I do go over the 768, I use the RC, therefor no need for any outside software

each will have their own preferences :)

Haha! I've done that too! I was editing my skybox at about 3000 feet and forgetting that I was in the regular viewer I tried to move a linked window. The window disappeared and it probably went down to 768. I was about to go down to retrieve it when it suddenly popped up again. I'd definitely recommend getting a better viewer and get a teleporter that supports the extra height too.
