Wet Hair?

Is there anyplace you can get hair which appears wet?

I searched all over OnRez and SLX to no avail, tried doing the search in various ways. Been in various hair stores, never seen it.

Seems easy to find skins that are wet and glossy. I even found a nice look for using in the shower with lather, bubbles, towel and wash cloth, which nearly fits what I'm looking for, but, alas, they didn't go all the way and finish it off by giving you the much needed wet hair!

Can you perhaps post a RL pic of what you have in mind so myself and others have a frame of reference?

It would not surprise me if you get wet hair in SL, but not necessarily wet with water..... :)

More seriously, a modable straggly pony tail might work, not sure how you would get a convincing dripping effect, but I think it would be quite easy (with dripping particles.... or maybe steam....).

/me considers taking a hot shower, or maybe that should be a cold bath.... :)

I think I MIGHT have seen one at Gurl6 but don't quote me on that. Wet hair is a good idea! I'm sure Ava would second you on that.

I buy all my hair at Gurl6, might have to run back there and take a better look. I originally wanted it because my house is on the water, makes sense if I'm going to be swimming that I would want to have my hair look appropriately wet, you know?

But, then of course, it did occur to me that when I use my bathtub/shower, why on earth am I there with dry hair???

/me thinks I might have given too much of a visual for the guys here :D

But, the pony tail thing is a good idea with those dripping particles. If only someone would create it, or I could find it!

Well yeah! and I understand your frustration. My girl and I usuall cool down in our shower after some rather hot activity, and i always wonder if the HAIR could have an interactive menu. I woud like to see the hair sweaty, and then wet in the shower for both mens and womans hair. Girl you may have just created a need! Now its up to the designers and scripters to provide INTERACTIVE hair!

There are already color change scripted hairs out there. I bet it wouldn't be so hard to do a "texture change" scripted hair. I can't imagine that you could actually change the shapes of the prims with a touchable script, but you could probably change the texture.

Hi Graph, take a look at this product I happened to chance upon when looking for wet hair:

http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=435639

Might be something interesting. I'm going to take a look at it inworld, if I can find it (I want to see it in person). Apparently, the hair is supposed to "move" when you touch it, in "affectionate" ways. If it really works, I'm definately going to pony up the money for it :)

/me loves when my guy messes with my hair *sigh*

Ask Carli, I think I have seen her with a "wet head" look.

Thanks Chris, you always seem to have an answer for everything :) I think I'll go in, and see if I can find that other product too...

This reminds me of another option: if one wants to do something like this for more than one attachment (or for a product), get a free copy of the Sensations scripting kit (I think you send your avatar key to Amethyst R or something like that... there are instructions somewhere at the Amethyst/Sensations place), and you can make any mod-perm attachment chat anything you like, and if desired, have it interact with other Sensations stuff. As I recall, you have to be creator of the particular prim where the script runs or it will shout something about licensing, but that's usually not a problem: just glue your own root prim into the attachment's linkset. (Don't even bother trying this with Xcite! stuff. To become a "partner" with them, you have to vow never to compete in the genitals market and get approval from one of the chief monopolists there. None of that crap from Amethyst.)

As for changing textures of hair, that should be just as easy as changing colors... and emitting slow particle drips should be pretty easy, too. It would also be possible to actually change the prim shapes and flexi properties on the fly, but it's trickier (the LSL function required has a built-in delay, requiring a bit of legerdemain to get around), and probably laggier. But this is basically the same as the "smart skirt" thing, only with way more prims for the average hair than for the average skirt.

Hi Czari! I will drop you the landmark inworld. I actually just was over there, and they had a whole bathroom suite, which was pretty detailed too and came with the aforementioned "lather up" animation included. I bought the whole thing, to replace the current bathroom set I have, as this one was a lot more comprehensive, and sexy to boot :)

I'm there right now, so I'll do it right away!

Pazazz actually do hair that transforms from loose to updo, or ponytail to updo and such when clicked.

The styles are called transitions and they come with an animation that makes your hands sweep up your hair.

Never tried them myself, but it sounds pretty cool.

:)

Creators note: niche market being flagged up here. There is a vendor who sells "wet clothes" ... and a niche fetish to fill ... if I could make this, I most surely would.

Rhaorth, that would be amazing. I bet you can see, a lot of us women here, and a few of the guys, seem to have a particular desire to have this item in our repetoire, for various uses. Let us know if you ever make any "headway" (pun intended) with it :D

I like the http://uncensored.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=46772
one better, if you want a drag and drop insta good hair spamming script.
But I like your mention of expanding on it.
The other is okay.

I know I'm going off-topic from my own post, but how does that work exactly? I'm not familiar with these kinds of items.

Think of it as adding a listening/speaking script to you hair or whatever. It, being the hair, will give the user(s) a drop down menu on click like Xcite items, but also quietly talk to other objects you may have that use Ammy scripts. So what was once standard hair, is now empowered to make you all warm and fuzzy when someone rubs it and whatnot.

/me is beginning to think Xcite might be worth investing in after all...

I have never found a script that says/does anything better that the guy's actual typing. Anybody can click a menu item; not just anybody can figure out how to type that they are running their fingers through my hair and do it in such a way that I actually feel it. Ditto for all of the other sensual/sexual scripted items. :)

I TOTALLY agree! I've had very passionate back and forth emails written between my lover and I that sent me to the moon! Nothing better than beautifully written love letters, a lost art if there ever was one.

However, sometimes, a little bit of a visual is a nice addition :)
