Is "Appear Offline" broken?

I have various people blocked from seeing my online status while I am working but every single one IM's me still when they come online. I have unticked the box in my friends list not allowing them to see my online status. Is it broken?

If you are in any groups together, your online status will show in th groups profile no matter what you do. Or they may just be getting lucky and blindly IMming you.

If you log on while they're already online, it won't show them that you just came online. It seems to be broken in general as well: a lot of times I'll get an "is offline" notice for people I never saw online at all. |

It is more than that though. I get people IM'img me I have blocked and we are not in any groups together. It is just broken. Also I see people that are offline in contacts list but start talking to them and ask if they have me blocked. They say nope.  |

Sorry to hear you get interruptions when working. I use Busy Mode during the times I need to concentrate on a task. I also use if it if I go afk. You can customize the message in your preferences to say "Hi, your IM is important to me but I am busy with... yadda yadda yadda... or I am afk. I will get back to you as soon as I can" Kind of like an answering machine works in RL.  |

I too use busy mode but unfortunatly there are those that just do not understand what that means, plus having to remember to check my trash for anything that was routed there while i was set to busy. It would just be simpler if we could truely appear as offline if we chose to. If yahoo can do it, surely SL can. |
