I had not been to the forums in a few months and came back to find that my browser no longer is showing HTML formating in messages. At the bottom of the forum page it indicates...
vB code is On Smilies are On [IMG]code is On HTML code is Off
I have not knowingly changed anything in my browser and I cannot seem to find anything in the User CP to turn it back on.
Did they change something in the forums or is there a setting I am missing? Its frustrating because I cannot see URLs and other text correctly.
I am using Safari on a Mac G5 Quad 2.5 ghz, OS version 10.4.10
Thanks

Its simple, they probably found a way to break it, and are working on a fix for the issue soon...they will get back to us ASAP!

About six weeks ago, the BBcode stopped working. Torley put up a sticky announcement explaining the problem, but it was timed to stick around for only one month so it is now gone. The story was that they turned it off temporarily in order to make some unspecified upgrade to the forum. The upgrade still hasn't happened and still hasn't been specified. And obviously BBcode is still turned off. Many find the "upgrading the forums" line to be questionable. This is common forum software, and no one familiar with it knows any reason why BBcode would have to be turned off for an upgrade. To help your viewing while we wait (for what may never come), you can use Firefox with the Greasemonkey extension and Strife's script. These will make it look to you like everything is working properly again. More info here: /327/b2/188445/1.htmlFinally, there is a JIRA ticket open asking for BBcode to be turned back on in these forums. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-156Anyone who cares about getting BBcode turned back on should go there, log in, and vote for it. The more votes we get, the higher LL will prioritize this issue.

Hey all, thanks for the info.
Ava the link are are great, now if they were only blue with a line under them...
And I agree the forum software is next to nothing to license and quite commonly used, once again, there is the situation of the reason and the real reason...
...or they just never complete.

From: Loydin Tripp Ava the link are are great, now if they were only blue with a line under them... For me they are! I finally broke down yesterday and installed Greasemonkey and Strife's script. It took me all of 5 minutes, and was easy as pie. If you use Firefox, or don't mind switching to it for the forums, I highly recommend this.

I really, really don't like having to copy and paste url's to see what people are linking to. Even more, I don't like how unprofessional my signature looks with the BBcode formatting marks before the url's of my sites. I wish they would fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: Dnali Anabuki THere is a great Add on for FireFox that puts the links back in. You can get in at the Add Ons page for FireFox and it is called Linkification. It works great.
For anyone not running FireFox..why the hell not? Works a treat.
