Has anyone been successful in importing secondlife models into blender3d, texturing them and then exporting that texture to their own avatar? as a 3d artist i pretty much suck but i got a good hand with blender so its possible to make avatars with blender it would be a good chance for me to make my avatar look like something else than boring :-)

You can use the new version of the Emerald viewer to export your head, upper body, and lower body meshes (WITH your shape applied to them) as standard .OBJ files, and import those into Blender to mess around with. I was trying to figure out how to apply a skin texture to the upper body mesh I imported like 5 minutes ago.. works great.
