Is there a way to turn off Group Chat for a certain group? So I don't get dinged whenever someone feels the need to spam half a thousand people. I know there is one for group messages but that doesn't effect group chat initiation. thanks, I would rather not remove myself from the group :)

Unfortunately, we don't have that ability. Yet?

The owner can make a workaround to this.
The owner makes a second everyone role, in adition to the normal one. Set the defualt everyone role so that the "join group chat" ability is off, and allow this in the second one.
Now members can "Opt-in" to group chat by being placed in the second everyone role.

Nice work-around solution, Dante. I never thought of that. I like it.

If things are working properly - yeah, I know that is a big IF - then you can close the box after the first message comes in and you will get no more chat from that group until next login. You do still have to tolerate the first one -- though it might work if you opened the chat box yourself and then closed it.
