I see some people walking around with custom tags over their head, not a group title but cute little phrases.
Is this easy to do? I can't seem to figure out how they are doing it.
Can anyone help please?

Thanx,
Cale

Form your own group, then you can create any title you want

A group title can say anything that a group officer sets it to, within a limited number of characters. Some groups have a choice of cute little phrases available. You can, of course form your own group for L$100, and then choose to put what you like up there.

The alternative is to get a titler, a little attachment that lets you float a bit of text over your head, usually in a choice of colours and often with other effects. You can probably pick one of these up for free if you hunt around.

You can find one of those titler's Kelli spoke about on SLexchange for free, http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=370907

Be warned about the forming your own group though. You need at least 2 people in the group in order for it to be active. Another good reason to have an alt.

Flip Titlers are the easiest way to do that, then you can change to any phrase you like, any time. I have a bunch....they were freebies so I can copy & transfer. But.....it would be very easy to make one using an invisible prim and a title script.
I'd be happy to give you one....look me up in-world. ;)

Maybe I should start another topic, but I'll try here first since it stems off of on of these answers.. After forming a NEW group..whats the proper SL etiquette in advertising your new group so others will join? Is forums proper for that??

That really depends on the type of Group you want to create and the type of people you want to attract. Also a good name and detailed charter helps. Keep in mind that once you start a group there are some administrative issues to stay one top of. I would suggest you start a practice group with an alt first.
Also check out Torley Lindens video toturial:

Oh and yeah...start a thread of your own if you want to change the topic
Try Search first though. I know this has been covered in previous threads
