Apparently I have 226 objects that are "selected / sat on"

what the heck does that mean?

The objects it lists and can "show" me seem to account for all the objects I would expect and 226 is a heck of a lot of wasted prims :))

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Since a few days I noticed that especially on islands the number of "sat upon" objects does not seem to degrease again. Do you have this situation on an island, too, or on a mainland parcel?

Anyway, I expect that a region restart would fix the issue ... but it's not enough of an issue to go through that, I guess.

These are not "wasted" prims, but some which are specifically marked. For example, they are exempt from being auto-returned.

Hi -its mainland

And by specifically marked do you mean they're in use but have become marked differently from the normal objects owned by me?

thanks

"Selected / sat upon" is the signature of ghost prims... invisible but solid prims left behind when the asset server borks when you try to delete something. It was supposed to be fixed, but I'm seeing a lot of questions about these again, so they might be back.

Generally speaking, the only way to free up those prims is to get your region restarted. The rolling restart should do it, but sometimes it is better to get a Linden out to do it manually just to be sure. Do you know how to request that? (Support portal, then either submit a ticket or go straight to Live Chat.)

It could be something else entirely, but a sim restart is usually the best place to start as it will fix a hell of a lot of issues.
