hi, sorry if this is in the wrong topic
i'm being griefed by some idiot who claims to be named feeder wizardly and/or nightmare dench (but i think these are not real names, see below). he makes repeated attempts to control my avatar which i refuse, and eventually a blue menu comes up that won't go away when i select ignore. he has me so lagged up that i can't get the abuse reporting feature to respond. eventually SL freezes up and i have to relog, but he's still there when i come back and the whole thing starts over again. is there anything i can do about this?
thanks for any help!
edited to clarify about the names

You don't want to name names in your post, so you might want to go back and edit that out. On your log in screen, you can go into edit and change your preferences to log you back at home or anywhere that this person WON'T be and then you will be able to file the abuse report. Put in your AR where it happened, with whom, and that you had to log in elsewhere.

File an abuse report against this person.
Mute him, too, so he can't bother you.

How to log in anywhere else:

First go to Edit > Preferences, before you log in, and On the General Tab:
Start Location: Show Start Location <-- check that box
Then under your avatar name, you will see
Start Location: (text entry box)
Enter something there, a region name

Then these re likely griefing objects with that name. Where is this happening? same place every time or elsewhere? Have you also retied removing all attachments from your avatar?

I am just guessing here, but it sounds as though the names may be names of objects rather than individuals. Can you post the exact text of the animation requests or the blue menu that won't go away?
Also, are you getting any chat text from these names? If so, and if it is in green or yellow, you are definitely dealing with an object chatting or IMing to you - if you set your offline IMs to go to email and quickly log off when you start getting messages from them, you may be able to get more information (such as the location of an object, if it is an object). It won't show the information that pops up in blue boxes, though, so if you're not getting text from it showing in your chat, or if it is chat rather than IM, or if it is a person rather than an object, that won't help.
Just thought of one more - are both names in lower-case, as you have them? Residents can have lower-case first names, but last names come from LL and I think they are all upper-case. So if both names are lower-case, your griefing/animation requests are most likely coming from an object.
I'm not the most technical, so I don't know if I can help stop whoever or whatever is doing this, but the more information, the better.
Oh, I just saw your last post - sandboxes are notorious for griefing. Definitely try logging in somewhere else. (If you don't know how to do this: On the login screen, go to Edit (up top) and choose Preferences. There should be one to "Show Login Location" or similar - check that. Now, at the bottom of the screen you should see a drop-down menu that allows you to choose a location to log in. You can choose Last Location, Home, or (type a name) - or similar, I can't remember exactly. Enter the name of a quiet sim - I use Pooley - and you will log in far from the sandbox where this is occurring.)
I hope you're able to get some relief from this. It is not a typical SL experience - hang in there!

So if both names are lower-case, your griefing/animation requests are most likely coming from an object... hmmm. i don't think that's quite right. my last name, Panache, was one of several choices given to me by linden, and it has an upper-case initial followed by lower-case letters. but if i look for my own name, i show up in the search regardless of whether i remember to capitalize my name or not. i'll double check searching for those names with correct capitalization, but i really don't think either search or the resident picker is case sensitive. Thank you, i do know how to log in to other sims, but i really needed to be there because i was in the middle of a complex building project there. i needed to at least be able to get there long enough to pick up my objects and take them somewhere else. I couldn't even do that! eventually all my stuff was returned to my lost & found folder, but I lost several hours that could have been put to good use. They are indeed 'objects', screaming vile chat at you, about it's army of alts, eh? The time I saw it, they were also screaming anti ethnic slurs, spoofing that you and others local to you are saying it. Usually while raining a bunch of scripted cubes down on your head. I certainly recognize the name and am so sorry it's happening to you. It's an old grief, I first saw it in 2007. The sim I was on at the time, the sim owner had to find the root cube to see who it belonged to, then he could file the AR against the owner, and return them all.
