Age verification - did it work?

Hi folk! *waves* I've got a quick question.

I just got age-verified since my favorite place to hang out will start restricting access to folks that are soon, and I'm curious if there's a way to tell actually tell if this worked now, short of finding another area that already implements this restriction and trying to access it.

I did get a note telling me that the verification was successful, so I'm probably just being overly concerned, but I'd rather not find myself locked out next month because it actually didn't.

Is your age verification status shown anywhere, say on your account page or so? I couldn't find it, and the Age Verification FAQ doesn't have anything on this, either, so I thought I'd toss the question out here.

If you try to age-verify again, it should tell you that you're already age-verified.

I haven't heard of problems with age-verification being updated in-world (problems like those with Payment Info On File). In the not-too-distant past, it did not always work in-world on every age-verified parcel, but I haven't seen that problem lately, so maybe they fixed it.

Still... *why* would anyone set their parcel to age-verified only, as opposed to using Adult rated land, where the much less brain-damaged account-verification is also permitted?

It used to show you there on the age verify form - but it doesn't seem to work anymore --sigh--

Only way to be sure is have the newest viewer and turn on adult access - if it's greyed out, then it's no-go.

If you still are running the old viewer - DO NOT get the new one and try this - because if it fails - it will fail on the old one from then on too. Just map search for Zindra and try to tp to that sim. if you end up at the bottom of a giant sea - you're good to go.

I just looked up your profile in world and you have payment info on file - so that's enough to get you into the adult areas anyway - so the age verification is a moot point. You're good to go!

Hmm, it doesn't do that - I just get the age verification form again (in fact, this was the first thing I tried on my own, but the fact I only got the form again was not in itself evidence enough to conclude that it didn't work, of course).

I'm using the latest viewer (1.23.4), yes. "Adult access" probably means setting Preferences->General->Rating to "I want access to PG, Mature and Adult", right? If so, I did that, and it worked.

Thanks! Yeah, Adult areas should be fine, and were IIRC, but my usual hangout is going to specifically require Age Verification soon, so just having my payment info on file and being able to access Adult areas wouldn't be enough.
