Someone mentioned this set of charming little videos on SLProfiles blog. I watched all 10 of them. A wonderful tale of one resident's quest to become fully immersed in Second Life. Someone who understands the spirit of SL totally!

Links don't work so just look up "Molotov Alva". I'm sure it's OK to mention his name as he deserves to be one of SL's top celebrities.

I've only watched the first one so far but this looks pretty damn good!

They get better and some are really funny. But there's a whimsical storyline too. It would be difficult for anyone to do better than these. A huge amount of work must have gone into making the videos too.

I believe this is one of the first SL machinima to be shown on RL TV. Bought by HBO I believe...nice to be able to see it since it was not available for quite some time since they wanted to keep it for TV.

It was actually available on the internet within a few days of its television showing. Filming was winter of 2006/2007 for a good bit of it, I believe.

Caledon is in episode four, right about in the middle. You can see the hub area and shops near Port Caledon, and Victoria City Park covered in snow. I know the people in those segments too.

It was a brilliant bit of work brought to all of us by Orhalla Zander of the hobo's, and some other great folks I'm embarrassed to say I can't quite remember the names of.

This is the sort of good press for the grid that simply couldn't have been bought at any price, done for the love of it. I think the creators were able to sell the rights to HBO/Cinemax, but whatever they earned, they deserved every penny.

I saw all of the episodes the other day. When I first started watching, I simply could not just walk away without knowing how it would all end. It touched me in a special way, and that kind of surprised me considering my almost complete lack of interest in anything SL for prolonged periods of time.

Other than the hilarous "Red vs Blue" (based on the Halo game engine) seriess, this must be the best machinima project I have seen so far. It is well written and even better executed. If more machinimas were as good as this, I would probably have DVDs with it in my movie collection.

I agree with all of you. These films are brilliant.

They were shown on Dutch TV recently. I'm curious to hear how they went down with the TV audience there. Holland has more Second Life residents per head of population than any other country, but most of the TV audience would still be people who have never heard of SL.
