recently I've noticed that whenever I log on, my avatar (It's a bear, btw) shows my muzzle and paws in gray. I've updated my video drivers and emptied my cache, but nothing seems to help. Others see it all right, so the prob is definately on my end.
I'm using an Invida geoforce 5200 graphics card, but I never had this problem before. Any suggestions other than upgrading the card?

I haven't heard this particular issue, but some SL textures are not being rendered correctly by nVidia drivers newer than the 175 series. Since others aren't seeing the problem though, it may not be the same issue.
Try Advanced menu > Rendering > Features > uncheck Palletized Textures
If you don't see the Advanced menu, hit Ctrl-Alt-D.
After unchecking Palletized Textures, Rebake (Ctrl+Alt+R), possibly a couple of times.
If that works, it is part of the known issue. In that case, you'll either need to repeat these steps at every login or, if your supports it, just roll your drivers back.

Tried it, but it didn't help. It was doing this with the old drivers too. Thanks anyway.

That's not a supported card for SL...maybe it just can't keep up anymore?

Paws and muzzle going gray? Sounds like it's time for Just for Bears.
It's possible that the textures in question have been lost by SL. That's happened before. Can you contact the creator to see if you can get replacement prims?

well the textures in question show up when I use the other computer in th house. so I'm betting it's probably the graphics card

yes, there are 2 Avs affected. Both the colors affected are browns one light and one darker. I don't know if that helps at all...
