I logged on today, had a group invite, but before I could accept it Second Life quit on me, is their a way I can go back into history or something to accept it? Is there anything I can do?

Sadly not, other than ask someone to invite you in again.

Also there is such a thing as an 'open' group - look up the group in question and see if there is a "join" button.
