Sometimes I just feel like taking a break from SL, but don't quite wish to shut it off.
So I try turning on "Busy Mode", but it doesn't seem to work. I'll come back a while later and see IMs popped up but the Busy response hasn't been sent and they are unaware I was away.
Am I missing something? =x
I'd use a program but the ones I've tried haven't kept me online, and I don't wish to buy something that should be easily turned on through the SL Client.

You don't actually see the busy mode response on your end. But they do.

Thanks! =)

All IMs will be saved so you can still read them when you return. Each person sending you an IM should get your busy message on the first IM that they send. Note however, that all inventory offers will be automatically declined to the sender and the item will end up in your trash, so you may want to peruse your trash folder after returning.
BTW - if you did not know, you can customize the Busy message in your preferences, communication tab (I think).

Am I correct in assuming group IM's do not get the busy message? I mean I've never seen a busy message in the group IM field. Sometimes it's nice to quiet them down for a time -- but I have to remember not to use that method when I'm shopping!

Couldn't imagine the chaos if they did.

FYI - Group IMs don't come through to you at all when you are in busy mode.
