Help need dj booth capable live feeds

hi all,
a friend (kinda newbie) needs help. He is opening a club (go figure ) anyway he wants a dj booth to play music streams with the capability to play live feeds for performers. What or who is the best you all know with this capability?

To be able to get a live feed from a performer to SL, you don't need an object such as a DJ Booth. What you need is a stream server such as Shoutcast (the most widely used option).

Once you have that, the performer, who we will assume knows how to get on this stream, will connect and you or your friend will need to plug the url of this stream into the "About Land" media tab. There are a number of places in-world to rent such a server just do a search for it.

If you are looking for a scripted object that will do this changing of the media stream for you, I would suggest looking for a radio object. Yes, some DJ Booths do come with such a tool included. Again, do a search.

Suggest to your friend to do a little research into these things before opening a club. There is too much competition out there to not be as prepared as possible before heavily investing in it.

I asked for the best known producers of stream content that incorporates a dj booth.

Please, know I have had my own servers, shoutcast I configured 2.5 years ago, and streaming live music already been there done that both too and from sl into and from US and Europe. I know you don't know that but my question is specific. Not too mention I am a guitarist performer as well lol. I am not concerned with the competition and I asked for a friend as I mentioned, who is new and has dreams which I wont squelch.

I can script most anything I need (sometimes with a little help from my friends ) when my one brain cell is fed and not rebelling lol.

I know you just tried to help and hope you continue to help those who need, just try to be cognizant of the help they require.

If there is anyone who knows of a content creator who has a dj booth capable of music streams and live stream please give them a plug. A friend wants to go where I have been and I don't want or need to re-invent a product I am sure is a specialty of another content creator.

Peoples are trying to help you Ray, the only problem is that your question doesn't make any sense, hence peoples are trying to "guess" what you are asking for.

Oh and yes I have built one but no longer have the servers or the inclination to want to do what I hope and pretty sure someone else is already doing. I have someone in rl knocking on heavens door and streaming live or programming music not on my agenda nor do I have the time for it right now.

kk, if you got that concept then add the abilty to touch part of that dj booth that changes music streams (like the radio's scripted to change the lands url).

then add a bandwidth provider (they generally have or rent servers there are many) who has packaged all in one and then you can answer who has what it is my friend (okay a renter of one of my properties who is new and requests assistance) and I call a friend. would like to purchase.

I really don't understand why any would answer a thread with more questions if you don't know thats cool , if ya do even better post or plug an inworld entity that specializes.

Honestly, DJ booths are mostly for show. They can have animations in them for the DJ avvie, produce fog, and so forth. To more easily control your stream, you need to look at something like a Slipstream unit. I have four of them in my various venues and LOVE them. Great customer service, too.

Since you are so great at scripting... why not buy a regular DJ booth and script it to do what you want?

There must be some sort of diss-connect here. I never stated I was great at scripting, I said I can script most anything I want. Sorry if you took that to mean I am Johnny on the spot scripter. Frankly it hurts my head lol but I get done what I need .

I don't want a DJ booth. Never did and I am not opening a club (I went that route over two years ago) Oh, just to be clear I told my friend that as well as warned him about certain issues he might have to deal with.

He still wants a DJ booth. He wants some features already explained.

I don't want to script a url changer though with as difficult has it appears to be for a simple question like whose the best provider of this product or potental product it may certainly have been less work to have just gone ahead and built it myself for my friend.

This is not on my lists of things I want to do. I was contacted by this friend and posted only to get an recomendation of where to look.

If you have ever gone through the nightmare of a family member dying and issues that come up in that situation (like being real tired and not having the time or focus to devote to sl as normally I do) you may realize how frustrating it is when it seems you can't get an answer to what you've asked but only opinions about what you asked for.

Also what Nebulae said. Even though your original question was plain enough it wasn't unreasonable to suspect that you might not have known that information.
Your next post after that made it pretty clear that you meant what you said the first time and that you understand well enough how these things work and you're just trying to help your friend out by asking for suggestions as to where to go to get the item.
I'm very sorry to hear that you are going through the death of a loved one. I hope for all that can be hoped for in such a situation for you and your family.
I'm also sorry I don't happen to know anything about dj booths because if I did know where your friend could get one I'd tell you.

No offense but I'm the wrong person to pull the I just lost a family member sympathy card on. My Uncle died while I was serving in Iraq and I was denied the chance to go home for his funeral. Oh and guess what I was doing not 5 minutes after hearing about my uncles death? That's right I was out on a patrol getting shot at, so please sing me your sob story.

As for the answers given, the first answer was trying to help and you snapped on that person, then another person tried to help and you snapped on them too. What you are obviously looking for is not help but a hand out. You have been rude to those who tried to help you and acted in a very snobby manner towards them.

Its been explained to you that DJ booths are just props and that if you want the features being asked for you will have to find a scripter to write a script and place it into a modifiable booth. You said yourself you know how to script and have already built your own booth, so why not just combine the two and help your friend out rather then biting off the heads of the people who are trying to help you.

I am a Nam vet 7/1 air cav 194th armor brigade,11-b10 (grunt, cannon fodder for those un-familliar). I am not playing the sympathy card. I am present in the midst of, so have limited time and no desire to script or build something I have no need of.

The person I have made the inquiry for wants no handout and wants to buy what he wants. I did not snap at anyone. I repeatedly have asked and clarified both what he wants and what my position is in regards to not wanting anything for myself (I have a thing about building, scripting, animating and creating textures that I must do all for myself and only on occassion will ask for help with some of my scripts).

If you felt the pain of an uncles loss while in duty in Iraq, you'd think you'd have the knowledge you would not want foistered upon another. Would you begrudge your uncles family who were present at his passing their pain because you weren't there? Your callousness exhibited smacks of some difficulties you are having and I wish you well in sorting out your angst.

I think Ray is just asking if anyone here knows where his friend can buy a DJ booth that
a. looks like a dj booth and
b. is pre-scripted to do all the things a dj normally does.
