why can't i participate in auctions?

I just tried to bid in one of the auctions and i got an error message stating: "Your account is currently not eligible to participate in the Second Life auctions. Upgrade here.".

my account is already a Premium account. it can't be upgraded any higher from what i can tell.

so why can't i participate in the auctions?

This is just a guess, but given your 10/31 creation date, your billing limits may not be high enough.

What auction are you trying to participate in? There haven't been any land auctions in a week or so.

none of those limits describe auction time limits. appears that page only lists the exchange limits.


i'm seeing 20 or so on the auctions tab right now, click the L$ Land Auctions tab.
have seen various auctions over the past week. most of which with bids.

Do you have enough L$ in your account? If I remember correctly, you cannot bid on an L$ auction unless you have at least your bid-amount in your account. (I.e. if bidding L$10,000 on a plot, you must have at least L$10,000 in your account for the bid to be accepted.)

its not even letting me get to a bid screen

I'll click the 'place your bid' button, it'll take me to a login screen, and it just gives me the error about upgrading my account.


guess i'll just open a support ticket. the auction FAQs don't say anything about an account needing to be a certain age either. I'm not to worried about getting land on there currently, I just hope to be able to access the auctions when the auction for the plot next to my land starts.
