Hi anyone got good places I could try or recommendations for some really good combat type army boots please?....so far I've tried Sinistyle, abyss, elsewear mall, happy bivouac and airship outpost on maggiore...Oddly, you don't seem to get the opportunity to demo boots for style and look, like you do for hair and skin/shape.....If I was intending to pay 800 bucks+ for decent boots, I'd at least like to have the opportunity to see what they look like on me first...what do you think?......thanks muchly in anticipation.

Hoorenbeek has a nice pair. You can get them in polished or worn versions.

Dawn Design makes some very nice ones: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Xalapa/137/13/41
They use resize scripts, which I don't like, but they look great and the price is good. _____________________

Tonktastic makes great boots. They aren't military but I wouldn't be without my Devil's Rejects.

Do you mean something like Doc Martens, (which actually began as combat boots), for fashion sake - or realistic army boots?
Wrong is, I think the name of the store that has a good pair of boots (called Shyt Kickers), and they're not very expensive if memory serves. I'm not sure of the name of the military store but if that's what you wanted, I can look it up later. (Or you can.) You might also try Little Britain. |

Best buy I've seen are a scruffy, half-open style by GutterBlood Spoonhammer at WMD, which are mod/copy. You can also texture them three different colour ways via a menu as well as choose your preferred texture resolution from three options on offer. Of course you can delete all the scripting from the copies you want to wear on a regular basis. They're very nicely priced too.
http://slurl.com/secondlife/WMD/107/152/22 Ju Weissnicht makes another excellent boot: the k-boot which also has a demo version you can try first. They are mod/copy although she includes a choice of five sizes for lazy customers who don't like finagling the edit dialog. However, they're more like jackboots. You can check them out here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Covet/150/14/23 |

Kboots are some of the best you can buy. Seriously. I am not a SL pilot, but I know those who fly/drive/sail in SL are fond of these because they are low prim.... VERY low prim compared with other boots. They also have no scripts that can cause problems with TP and sim crossings.
It doesn't hurt that their texture is very good and they are sculpted so well that they don't use invisiprims. A big benefit when you want to take a picture of yourself, no alpha issue. If you only buy 1 pair of boots in SL, buy these. And no, I am not the creators alt or girlfriend... I just love things that are well made and don't have loads of annoying scripts. Call me oldfashioned, and proud of it. ![]() |
