As a policy, LL don't even allow you to change your first name. LL will occasionally *require* someone to change a first name, usually because it is obscene or objectionable in some way.

With a raffish name like Auzztralia Magic you sound liek a yacht.
Just goes to show you gotta be sober to pick a name for a kid. Otherwise you end up with names like Ragner, Tinkerbelle and BumDippity or some such lunacy. _____________________

Or Jig? Sorry, you left that one wide open. ![]() Jig has soooo many meanings. Check out Hemingway "Hills Like White Elephants" - that's teh name of the girl. A dance, a trap, a piece f music, a joke, a hook, a cleaner, a guide, to move up and down, I am worn on the wrist - oooh so many many. Even Hamlet uses teh word. Also my real "petname" when I was little. "Stop jigging about and stand still!" _____________________

is there a way to make our last names anything we want? Nothing stops you from making new avatars though. Go to slnamewatch and look for the last name you want, and then make an avatar for it. Best to do that before you put too much money into your current avatar. |

And if you do create another avatar, you can still keep your existing one too.
They are alternate accounts, or 'alts'. They are completely independent of each other - you can log in as one or the other. You can transfer a lot of inventory items from your existing account to the new one as well - the exception being 'no transfer' items. This is completely different from simply 'wearing' a different avatar outfit within the same name. |

hmmm... i've seen a lot of SL partnered couples with the same last name. can you change your last name to your registered partner's last name, or are those probably RL couples who started their avs together with the same last name?

You can't change your last name to match a partner. My wife and I used the same last name when we signed up, and that's probably the case. Or they only date people with the same last name in case they decide to partner up.

Not sure why that was...... |

Maybe they had a name already in use on the adult grid? The only reason I can think of if there wasn't anything unacceptable about it. _____________________
