It sems that SL viewer is not identifying a GeForce GT 220 Card. I am getting the " insufficient Hardware to run SL " message when loading SL but its a rather Powerful Card. My main problem seems to be that the SL viewer is too bright and I do not want to have to manually adjust the monitor to make up for this discrepancy. The same monitor works perfectly fine with a older GeForce running SL on a few different machines.
any ideas?
Thanks

set the Nvidia control panel colors for just SL when you load SL you can have the Nvidia load what ever you would like creating a profile. and all other times it can be what ever the base line or normal settings are
color correction and all that can be profiled for certain exe/games/apps etc.
I had to do that with an old old card as everything was to dark. Works great
And it may be your seeing what you haven't with the 220 (you don't say what the older card is) but windlight is bright!

Edit->Preferences->Graphics->Hardware Options Adjust the Gamma number up (between 1.00 and 2.00). 0.01 = the brightest 1.00 = normal (which is also the same as default 0.00) 2.00 = the dimmest

Thanks also to the above.. I ended up doing a custom profile but now I do not trust the acuracy of the colors.. kind of a problem when working on textures Oh and the Old card was a GeForce6200

From: VonGklugelstein Alter Interestingly the gamma is greyed out (as id the fog dist ratio) - good tip though. Sorry bout that. You have to enable "Antialiasing Gamma Correction" from the Nvidia control panel->manage 3D settings->either the global settings tab, or program settings tab when set to work with an SL profile. The other antialiasing options in there should be set to 'application controlled'. Might also have to enable a little antialiasing in SL (on that same hardware options tab I mentioned before) for the setting to UN-grey for you. 2x AA and 4x AA are minimal enough that it shouldn't affect your cards performance to where you'd notice it.

Think Linden say minimum is the 6600, maybe you saw things wrong with that and got used to that.

What difference does it being added to the list make? Do Linden adjust SL to match the card in some way, or confer with Nvidia who send a new driver out? I guess you will have got latest Nvidia driver now. West

The way I understand it, is that LL has to put the settings in the Viewer configs so that the viewer can communicate with the features of the cards. When I first bootet SL on my new machne I got the " your hardware does not meet the required minimum performance " Error message, even though this card screams and outperforms most cards out there...
