I have a roomba. One of those robotic vacuum things that runs around the place every day. Overall, it does a pretty decent job and I am happy with it.
Since my place is pretty new, it is still pretty unorganized. Cable setups aren't quite tidy, some cardboard boxes lying around. Assorted misc things in misc places.
But, every single day, I come home to find that this little joy of technology has gone just a little bit insane and decided to unplug my TV, possibly as punishment for leaving the cord near the floor and not bolted down. Or it drags my router, still in need of a mounting solution, to the center of the floor. Or managed to get a chair turned around. Or pushed Ikea droppings (lots of cardboard around that I need to drag away) that were neatly stacked up in a corner ALL over the place. Don't get me started about what happens if I dare to leave a sock on the floor..
As I type this post, it has attacked my chair 3 times. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder about it. Maybe a recent lightning storm while I was watching the SciFi channel has somehow brought it to life...
Anyway, I figured out the perfect name for it today: Argent.

From: Pserendipity Daniels Because Argent sucks? Pep (It had to be asked. ) No! Because it reminds of a small, overall quite useful and loveable but slightly insane, ferrit. I may try to attach a tail to it and submit pix to lolferritz.com.

I can hear it attacking the bathroom door now. I keep it closed because.. well.. it does not know how to behave in there yet. It really wants in, though.

I bought one when they first came out, and liked it a lot. It was like having a pet horseshoe crab. It died years ago and I have yet to get a replacement, but have been thinking about it lately.

From: Osprey Therian It was like having a pet horseshoe crab. Someone should make plastic pieces that can attach to the top, and make it look like one... that'd be pretty cool, in a bizarre sort of way.

I am cracking up at this- I can imagine my 80 lb Rottie cowering from it and my under 6 lb Papillon attacking it- sitting on it and being flung across the room. oh i am so lolling

I love my Roomba. So does my puppy. Which is a fortunate, since my puppy is the main reason I got the little robot. Now, I'm not sure how I lived without it; I'm really not that fond of housework. As in, I used to wait until the carpet was a discernibly different colour before dragging the vacuum cleaner out O_O

If it were a horseshoe crab though would it spike you when you step on it by accident? I still remember my days on the delmarva shoreline and seeing those things imaple tourists feet.
