Buying a region from Linden

I understand the process of buying a region..........but how can two people buy a region together? Example - me and a friend want to split the $1675 cost of buying the region. How does the ownership work.

After the purchase of the region, can we sell the land but still own the region? I can't find anything online explaining info for after buying a region.

I'm not sure it's possible to split the cost between two people.. the best way would probably bne to have one pay half to the other and then create a group to own it.. I'm truly not sure more than one person can own a sim o.o

region payment (purchase&tier) aswell as ownership is held by one person only
to share the costs, one person must donate the money to the other person for purchase and tier

here`s the ultimate dillema,
the person who orders and pays the tier is the SOLE owner of the island, so if you hold the island and a fight happens, he can not to anything, same the way around, the person owning it is basicly god of a piece in the middle of no where


selling land is the same as the mainland with a twist
you can sell all the land but with the click of a buttom reclaim it back to your name

so in this case, you hold the land and a fight happens, you can kick and ban the ex friend, return all his stuff and reclaim all the land



know what your doing as only 1 person can own it all, LL won`t interfear IF a fight happens and one person gets screwed (resident dispute & private estate)

if it is a private estate and not mainland yes you still technically own it

however if it is mainland, once you sell land, it is sold, regardless if you own the entire sim, or only one plot

Stupid question............. how do I purchase mainland vs a private estate?

Estate Regions are arranged through LL whereas Mainland Regions are one of a few ways, 1. via private owner 2. via land sales for full sims 3. auction land from LL (not likely for a few weeks).

Personal opinion, if you can do it, go for the Estate Regions. You have much more control than mainland. However, if you decide to let your partner do the buying for a Estate region, be sure you fully trust this person.
