So bummed...I had removed a dolphin and replaced it with a family of 3 dolphins..sculpted, really lovely...then was logged out by LL because of the grid issues.
Upon my return..the old dolphin is exactly where it was before i removed it..the family of 3 vanished.
Followed all the usual ploys recommended on the support section...lodged a ticket etc etc
Its like they did a rolling restart...but they say they didnt.
anyone else have missing items since the big problem this morning?

ick! Yes sadly that is a documented way to lose content. I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. It sounds like the region you were in came back up on an old save point. I'd start a ticket or call concierge and see if there is a newer save point. Highly unlikely but still worth a try.

LL will do nothing, they can't, the content is gone, they can't possibly start handing out replacement copies or the tirade would make the adult grid controversy seem like nothing However, contact the maker of the dolphins and explain what happened. Most builders should have no problem replacing a few dissapearing items now and then. (I don't)

Yeah. I bought a L$500+ pair of boots after a store owner put a notice out. First attempt to rez the box gave me 'attempt to rez an object failed' and subsequent attempts told me it was missing from the database. I notecarded the creator asking him to check the object in the vendor (don't want others to have the same problem, if it *is* missing from database). He accepted the notecard six hours ago, but no reply yet.

yay! Actually for the first time ever in over two years, I DID write the maker a notecard , explaining what had happened and all the relevant info. I thought about the number of times wed replaced items from our own store and though it was worth a go... She responded very fast, with a full replacement of the item..hows that for brilliant customer service So thank you Maggie Morgan of something fishy that was so kind !! Of course, Iam not going to rez them now for a week or so and let this current "episode" die down lol

Yes but what you didn't take into account was maybe the fact that that poor old dolphin you sent to the scrap heap could have come back done something VERY rude to the new male dolphin, B**tched Slapped the femail and sent the youngster off to an orphanage? and then resumed his rightful position going round and round and round and round and....
Be WARNED people!!! A Pet is not just for Xmas!!!

Update: finally logged in today, and those boots are now completely missing from my inventory, even after setting the filters to search back to *before* I purchased them. Still no word from the creator.

Still no word from the creator. oh I had the official reply from Linden Labs regarding the ticket I sent in . Basically the problem meant anything you were doing or did at the time the incident begun is wiped and they cant recover it (I kinda knew that but thought wth Ill ask anyway justttt in case) adding- yes I did that also..set the filters back a few hours to maybe show the dolphins..all I had was still the empty box though.

Hiya Faithless, I did as well... SL led me a merry dance all night..I'd been building away happily for ages, making some jewellery-thingos, and was completely in the groove of it all, oblivious to all, when all of a sudden my whole world went poof. Tried to get back and couldn't. I had to abandon everything in the sandbox where I was working (which was still offline today when I managed to get back). Today, I realise it's all gone. A basic version was returned to me by auto return. It's very annoying, but at least I know rebuilding is do-able, unlike anyone who rezzed no-copy items last night- they can't fix it themselves You have my sympathy, and I hope items are replaced for you.

This is exactly why they say not to rez no-copy items during problem times. Items can end up into the never never land even without a sim reset.
My home sim got reset back an hour or two once and I lost 3 B&B couple poses I had rezzed in that time frame. There were not even grid wide problems that day -- no clue why the sim was reset, but nothing LL could do about it.

And that includes wearing items, apparently. As anyone tuned in the the Cartel chat last evening knows I'm now running around without my trousers, having attempted to change after one of the Grand Tour balls. (I'm going to try to get a trouser leg replacement before I start to like this.) One has to wonder how many of those lovely, expensive gowns have gone to the void.

Many of us put out things before there were any notifications of a login problems. Additionally were there any online notifications? Perhaps I missed them but I did not see any. Maybe THIS is something they should convey in the MOTD instead of promoting large estate owners or Pornlandia. The sim on which I reside was functioning fine with no problems. It really should not be incumbent on residents to constantly check the grid status site in a state of constant paranoia. In addition rental boxes are not reflecting payments made during the period after the setback time. I am hopeful that the money is recorded and received on the other side regardless of what the rental box states (it shows as paid on my transaction log and is debited out of my SL linden dollar account).

They never gave inworld notices? OMG. I did not log in until early afternoon and by then had read of all the problems via the forums and the blog. The one time my sim was rolled back and I lost stuff, there were not even any grid problems. Just all of a sudden I was logged out, could not get back home for about 10 min, and then immediately discovered there had been a rollback -- I never even knew why. I guess it is always sort of a crap shoot.
