Dear all,
Too bad tier won't follow, but something is happening. This is one of the times I hope someone makes a total fool of me. I hope someone saw this first. I was cruising the auction map and saw that Paulson (Continent #8 which used to be shaped like an ear) has grown a bit of cartilage on its eastern side. The very tip of the cartilage was a region called Gaeta_2_region1. Not far from the cartilage was another island: Gaeta_4_region1. I don't think this is Ursula. It looks like LL is going to build at least another continent and a half nonadult, plus it has a fair amount of undeveloped land on Gaeta.
Increase the supply. Release the suppy, and watch what happens to the price. My suspicions are that LL is planning a whole lot of behind the scenes social engineering.
Right now I know what I would do in LL's place, and the fantasy feels great. I have no idea what LL is planning.
Does any one have any thoghts on the new builds in the works?

IIRC, Carl Metropolitan posted a while back that what we know as Gaeta is actually one landmass in an archipelago of continents collectively known as Gaeta and that the first completed island was actually Gaeta V, the fifth island.

Here is a link to the post Cristalle is referring too: /327/d3/300444/1.html#post2274137 And two of his quotes from Jack Linden: From: someone The continent you have labeled Gaeta on your map, is actually the 5th Gaeta continent. You see Gaeta is a set of 5 continents ranging in size from quite small up to large (800+ regions). The only one of these 5 to so far go onto the grid is the 5th one. The new one you mention is actually Gaeta 1 really. But those are internal names really, I expect that we'll talk about them as Gaeta Major, Gaeta North etc. they will have distinct names. From: someone No, the two existing ones haven't really had a name attached to them yet, but they will. We do have a final layout, but I'd rather not give that out because it will almost certainly change.

OK, I'm glad I'm not the first one to see this. The auction map did get updated some time this spring, but if there are one to two more (They say four but some aren't going to be very large) continents in the works, in addition to Ursula, isn't land value going to drop?

This is why, I suspect, those ones have been there, but not put out for sale.

This made me look at the slurl map and now I have a ton of questions What's the deal with that crazy block of sims in the south east i.e. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Landstore%20Pool%20322//// has that always been there? I've never heard of it before. What's going on here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bay%20City%20-%20Edgartown//// More Bay City sims? A bunch of built out mainland? What is this? There's a ton of attached sims with mainland-like names but they're so heavily built out how can they possibly be scheduled for mainland? Duplicates of existing sims? Is LL copybotting all our stuff?

Landstore Pool is probably where new sims bought via the Landstore are drawn from. There's about 90 of them atm. They probably represent a rack of servers that they bring online at a time. As new sims are purchased (and maybe old ones retired), they are drawn from / placed into the "pool".
Not sure about the others.

From: Osprey Therian That's the Teen Grid. Gosh, I really didn't know the Teen Grid has a proper location on the map.

From: Osprey Therian That's the Teen Grid. Fascinating to look at. I would LOVE to see a photo taken down the canal in the sim that mirrors Imaginario, just to see the differences. I would expect everyone to have little goatees.

The Teen Grid isn't technically a separate Grid at all. It uses the same account database and asset server, and shares a good bit of infrastructure with the Main Grid. The difference is that the accounts are flagged separately, and the communications facilities/groups are segregated.
We discovered this some time back, when we reported people who had vendors in our marketplace at the Isle as Teens, and they were moved to the Teen Grid. Their vendors were still in the marketplace afterwards, and when we returned them, they appeared in their Teen Grid inventory.
Makes you kinda wonder if you could pass adult content over to the Teen Grid like that. Of course, LL would clamp down on it quick, but it was possible.

My guess is... they have a bunch of unused server space do to all the OS sims that were dumped... so they set them up as islands yet to be purchased. Maybe it helps them bring them online faster when someone buys a new sim?

From: Osprey Therian Look on Snapzilla by sim name. I have; sadly, no one from the TG has taken much in the way of long shots there. The only one of the comparable sim to Imaginario (Bay City - Barnstable) is a shot looking into a club. There is a handful from their analogue of Docklands (Bay City - Turuo) but none of those include much of the sim, or any landmarks to give an idea of where they are.

As a Former TGer. I recieve weekly updates still through my email about TSL from friends I used to have over there, I really do miss them. I keep in contact through messengers and email etc. I have heard recently that they have set up a Teen Grid Action Committee dealing with the community, copybotting and the economy over there, you can check more out here: http://tgaction.wordpress.com/. There is another good link relating to Arwyn Quandry from the teen grid giving updates on her blog: http://arwynquandry.wordpress.com/. Before I transfered to the Main Grid, I was one of the first teens to visit TG Bay City and help volunteer etc. I took over 5,000 snapshots of the Teen Grid and you can view them here: TSL Sets: http://www.flickr.com/photos/danielvoyager/collections/72157603596877318/TG Bay City set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/danielvoyager/sets/72157605044503733/Daniel Voyager. If you have any questions, IM me in-world.
