Hi,
i've read that anyone is a business owner if they sell stuff. On the web site, it lists Business Owner trading limits. Who does classify as Business Owner?
Oh, and anyone know what a Level 2 resident is, as for trading limits also? Been level 1 for months.
Thanks Yanik

There was a blog post about trading limits last December which had some information about the different categories. http://blog.secondlife.com/2006/12/07/billing-and-trading-limits-changes/From: Lawrence Linden We’ve also added Resident 2 limits that are intended for Residents who wish to purchase more land or L$ than the Resident 1 limits allow. If necessary we’ll add Resident 3 and Resident 4 limits.
The Business Owner limits are intended for the normal small business that has modest costs of starting business in Second Life, and mainly needs to sell L$ and pay for a number of regions. We may rename this class to “Small Business Owner” in the near future to help distinguish this class from the Enterprise class.
The Enterprise limits take the Business Owner limits another step forward to accommodate businesses that have high costs of starting business in Second Life and may need to buy a large number of L$ or large numbers of regions. This class of limits will be more difficult to get into than the others. We’re still nailing down the final policy details. When they’re ready for publication we’ll add them to the limits web page.
The Currency Trader limits are for Residents that would like to buy and sell a lot on LindeX but don’t need much purchasing power. As far as I can tell, you will remain at Resident Level 1 until you specifically request a status change. The trading limits page tells you how to request a trading limits increase. http://secondlife.com/currency/describe-limits.phpAlthough it says they'll respond within 5 days, in the past they often haven't responded at all. Hopefully their performance will be better now that the request is done with a support ticket. Still, if you don't hear back from them after a week or two, I'd suggest following up with a live chat with Billing.

From: Yanik Lytton Hi,
i've read that anyone is a business owner if they sell stuff. On the web site, it lists Business Owner trading limits. Who does classify as Business Owner? Yes, if you conduct business on the grid you can move up to a business owner, but I believe you have to be "approved" for it, thats why its not an automatic update. They have to look over your account then get back to you. From: someone Oh, and anyone know what a Level 2 resident is, as for trading limits also? Been level 1 for months.
Thanks Yanik A "Level 2 RESIDENT" can sell up to 5k USD of lindens and buy up to 10K USD worth of lindens, per month. Whereas a "level 2 BUSINESS OWNER" can buy up to 40K usd of lindens and sell up to 20K USD worth of lindens. So theres a huge difference between the two. You need to go here: https://secure-web6.secondlife.com/currency/describe-limits.phpLook at the limits and see which one you need, then you request an upgrade. If you do not need to be in the business category cause all you are selling is 5KUSD a month worth of lindens, then you only need to request they move you to a "level 2 resident" status, if you need to be selling up to $20K USD a month, you need to request a "level 2 business" status. I wish you luck, though. I had to beg them every 5 days to raise me to a "business level #2", finally they did it, but it took MONTHS. Previously I think I was a "resident level 1." Im happy now, and with the $20K USD selling limit I believe I wont be bugging them for another raise for a very long time lol.
