This has been happening for a few days now, people will IM me I will be in conversations they go silent then there text comes up.. or in case of my partner... "What no answer?" I am like huh? answer to what? Oh look in my email (they are sent to email when I am offline) there is his question..... It's not just him several of my friends I find this happening to as well.... Tonight I said goodbye to 2 people. now I sign on 4 hours later and there is a very odd IM from both of them that I can only assume they sent before I even loged off!

Anyhow, I recall this happening a while ago and thought it was "fixed" so do you know if there is something on the list that LL needs to fix or am I still suffering alone here and missed the fix?

Every day, all day. It is getting old, lame and disruptive of proper communications between people.

Twice now i have had people respond in a passive aggressive negative manner to me for what they assumed was my "ignoring" them when their IM never came through. A good sign your IMs are being lost is when the window says: "so and so is typing..." and then nothing comes through or the "so and so is typing..." goes away - definite lost message for sure then.

I've had it too, its very upsetting when good friends think you are ignoring them when you wouldn't dream of doing any such thing.

It's been going on for months. It seems to often (but not always) coincide with the infamous "Avatar Avatar is typing...." message that never resolves into anything. I have taken to A) watching to see if the "is typing..." message goes on for too long, and then asking the person in question "Did I miss anything you typed?" and B) sending my IMs to email, and keeping my email open while I am in SL to see any missed IMs.

I see offlines and when I log in they are not there. Seems to be a feature of whatever they recently changed.

YES! I thought I was going slightly batty at first. I couldn't see why my builds were rezzing with different textures than the ones I built them with.

But yes, that IM typing issue has got me in trouble a few times!

I haven't seen any other evidence of missing IMs, but I have had that "Avatar is typing" show up and go away. I'll keep an eye on it, thanks.

What's been burning me lately, other than the "asset not found in database" problem I've been seeing over and over again for the past week and a half, is that EVERY time I log in my avatar has sky painted all over it, sometimes it takes a couple of rebakes to get rid of it.

Just a question.... is it a database issue? If one carries a fairly extensive inventory, do things like this happen, where stuff just takes forever to load, including our skins etc? I've never had this issue...but it's logical, yes/no?

I've had it happen with my "banker" alt that has, like, maybe a couple of hundred items in inventory. It may be related to the load on the sim you're on, at least I've been able to fix it for a time by finding an empty ocean sim and relogging there.

Although... how much of that should be stored in your cache and wouldn't that make a difference?

Clearing cache doesn't stop it. Relogging in an empty sim does.
