I have two how do get music or video to play on it? I saw at the bottom left portion of my window that you have the option to stream music and all that and wanted to try it out.

Secondly, my brother wants to completly wipe my computer clean because I've been haveing problems with it and he thinks that will solve it. I want to save all the items I've gotten through second life but I don't know where in the computer the folder with the files would be at. Can anyone help?

Everything is saved on the server so you can wipe out your computer or you can even log in from a different computer and you will still have your stuff.

To stream music and video to your computer you need to install quicktime from Apple's website. I think there's a way to install it without installing itunes but I don't recall how.

To play music and video: Click Edit > Preferences > Music and Video. Check the appropriate boxes for playing streaming video and music, and OK it. Now a music symbol will appear at bottom right of screen. Click the little white arrow to hear music.

The only thing that is saved on your computer is your chat logs, if you enabled the option to save them. To find out where they are stored, see:

Edit > Preferences > Communication > Logging Options

If there are no chat logs that you want to bother keeping, then don't worry about it at all, as stated above. :)

Hi Dena!

This is a great idea your brother has! LL said a while ago that more often than not, when a person is having issues with SL, it is the other software they have installed on the machine.

A fresh install of your OS may really make a difference. I hope it works for you!

And after the new OS is installed, try to keep the programs you add to your machine to a minimum if you can - or at least be very aware so that if your SL starts to act wonky you will know what past few programs you installed.

Good luck!
