Do you think Liden Labs would allow me to hold a Memorial service for Micheal Jackson?

What about all the innocent ppl who die every day some in their line of duty, and i dont mean in the army only. I get so fed up with all the goings on because someone in the public eye has died for what because they could sing, dance, act? They got paid well for it, but we dont give a second thought for the father/mother who has died or been killed that we hear on the news.
Lets get some perspective on this MJ a good singer, has not released an album since 2005 and that was a greatest hits. His dance steps well watch any old Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly movie and you will see where most of them came from. The Moonwalk or as it was originally called " the backslide" " was recorded as early as 1943 in a performance by tap dancer Bill Bailey" yes he did it well and yes he made it known but he did not invent the move.
MJ was a good singer and dancer, was he a good person I dont know never met him and cant really go on his publicity but really lets focus on what is important and think of the ppl who you are close to let them know you care for them cause tomorrow may be to late

Delilah if you want to do a memorial there is nothing stopping you. You are welcome to put a proper salute to him, or hold a service. You just need to have a bit of land to do it on, or find someone who will let you use thiers. If you want to advertise it or anything I am sure you can find instructions for posting an event.

Hi Delilah. Michael Jackson was controversial. A memorial can bring protests. Do it on private land to keep peace.

yes you can and I didnot say other wise what i am saying is get it into prospective. He was an entertainer, mind you has not been so for some time. He did nothing different to most other entertainers more him dont make him a demi god as i feel will happen

I didn't see anything out of perspective about the OP's post, Windsweptgold. Hey, what about my friend Morgan? She's 14 and lost her whole leg to cancer, and the cancer is in her lungs too. Why isn't everyone carving her face into a mountain? Or me? I'm 25 and live every moment of my life exhausted and in pain. Let's make a statue of me out of chocolate!

To get to the point: People care about different things, and there's nothing wrong with showing it. The OP is doing nothing wrong, and you aren't expected to show up and pay respects. There's a lot of bad things in the world, but people will generally only make a big deal about things that affect them personally. Famous people affect a lot of people personally, therefore they get more people making a big deal about them. There's too much going on in the world to make a memorial for every fallen person, unfortunately. But that doesn't mean that it's fair to protest when someone does get recognized.

If you own the land, you can do whatever you want to (within TOS/CS/etc.). Would they specifically endorse it, or something like that? I doubt it.

Surely there is some price to get it in the MotD. (Or is that only restricted to Lindens' friends right now?)

I agree, and not in a positive way.
