I have mixed emotions on the upcoming grid change`s "adult/pg" and I am very confused.
I am a store owner and i rent a Sim. I design clothes and prim items. I have some Gothic skins. I was showing the chest, but seen i want everyone to shop at my store, i am covering up with chest.
Right now my land is list as Mature , I tried to make it PG unchecked the Mature button but my Sim is still listed as Mature. I have a Gothic Neko type Sim . its very PG.
Does anyone know how they are going to work this and when are they open up the grid. I am so confused on when and how all the new rules will work.
Can anyone help ?

If you are renting on the mainland, in a Mature sim, even if you rent the whole sim, you can't change the rating of the sim. You can tag your *parcel* as PG, but the sim remains Mature.
If you're just selling Neko Skins and showing them in a PG manner, with the chest obscured in the vendor pics, you should be unaffected by the mandated changes themselves. The Lindens, based on their most curent statements, have said that a skin vendor is OK on Mature land. At worst, you might need to change your parcel rating to Mature, matching the sim you rent in.
As far as indirect affects, who knows?
A lot of people who currently make their living in SL as dancers or escorts will be unable to work after the mandated moves, because strip clubs and escort services will be banned to the red light continent. And many strippers and escorts have no payment info on file... How many of them are among your customers, I could not guess. But if they no longer have an income, they will stop buying any sort of merchandise - even G-rated Neko skins.
It also depends on how this affects your landlord. If you're "renting", I presume some other resident actually owns the land. What if a large percentage of their other land holdings are mixed use, part Adult and part not, and they decide to sell it all and fold? Or their Adult tenants fold or relocate, and the landlord can no longer make tier? You could lose your land and have no recourse but to relocate.

The 'mature' button associated with a parcel is tied into the Age Verification crap. If it all worked correctly and you ticked that button, only age verified accounts could get into your parcel. That is all that button does - but it does not work correctly anyway, so it should be ignored by all. As Ceera said, the Mature that you are seeing at the top of the screen, vs PG, is the SIM designation and that cannot be changed - it is set at the time the sim is first created.

I thought they said skins were going to be ok to sell, even with 'parts' not obscured? I stopped reading the Linden threads pretty early on though because seemed to be mostly opinions and suggestions and not enough Linden responses so could be wrong about the skin thing.

Skins should be ok according to Lindens, I guess most male skins don't have prim parts so the Mull of Kyntyre test doesn't come into the equation, female skins I guess some could be troublesome.

From: Ceera Murakami ...escort services will be banned to the red light continent... How will they enforce that? If someone decides to run their services out of a skybox 1000 plus meters in the sky on a PG sim I doubt Linden Lab is going to do anything about it. They haven't done anything proactive about non-PG activity behind closed doors on PG sims in the past.

No Payment Info on File customers will not be able to buy from businesses flagged Adult.
NPIOF employees won't be able to get to work at the Adult businesses that employ them.
Adult customers will not patronize M or PG businesses (for example, Masters/Mistresses will no longer be able to bring a leashed slave to these areas without risking an AR).
Businesses that sell PG and Mature items (sexy clothes, for example) will see an additional drop in business as the REASON for wearing sexy clothes goes away.
Customers who aren't age verified won't patronize age-flagged parcels (and that's about half of everybody, according to a current poll in this forum).
Unless LL fixes the verification software, age-flagged parcels will continue to exclude, more or less at random, even those residents who ARE verified.
In short, the SL economy will be devastated.
But that's OK...the grid will be safe for everyone. We will all have a "predictable" SL experience. I predict that we will all go broke.

Well said Lindal!
Confusion reigns though as some BDSM sex furniture stores are being allowed as mature...but should owners be depressed that their wares aren't good enough to be adult?!! lol

fixed. I think I have seen customers on leashes ONCE in a store. I've seen them fugged a few times, but don't see it much myself. I see a lot of 'slightly dressed' people, but they could probably just put something on to shop...

They haven't done anything proactive about non-PG activity behind closed doors on PG sims in the past. If they advertise their services, the place referenced in the ad will have to be in an Adult restricted sim, or they will be forced to relocate. If the Escort does not advertise, but just hangs out in PG attire at "Esther's Happy Juice Bar", a fictitious PG establishment, and manages to pick up clients entirely by propositioning them in IM and taking them "Home" to her escort bedroom, then they might get away with that for a while as "personal use" of her residential parcel. Until someone AR's her for propositioning customers in a PG business...

At the Isle, we've had quite a few, but since we are a high-fantasy place, it isn't out-of-place, exactly. The Isle is PG, though, and we sometimes ask folks to remove prim bits and other non-PG things, but generally we're pretty tolerant of alternate lifestyles, fetishists, etc.
