Builder Recommendations?

Can anyone out there recommend a builder? I've had a look around at profiles/classifieds, but I am completely put off by anyone with "send me a notecard I am too busy to talk to you and I don't get IMs"

I need a good old-fashioned moon & crescent outhouse (mod/copy/no transfer). If you know of anyone, please recommend.

In the meantime (I'm at RL work), do a search for Glowbox Designs, swing by the studio, and get a look at the sample work.

However, there are some pretty nice ones on the Slex as was mentioned above...and I wouldn't be hurt at all if you take choose one of them.

I guess depending on how they phrase it I can sort of understand, but I have something like that in my profile, not because I am too busy to talk to people, but because SL has a habit of misplacing IMs.

I have been online and had IM's go to my email as though I was not there, and other times they do not get sent to e-mail when I am not there. Sometimes I just plain never receive them either way.

This is true, what if you were away from computer and someone sent you an im and then you crash before being able to read it or if the do a sim restart. I am completely in agreement with the note card. I have missed alot of ims before this way.

Wow that's... busy, if they won't respond to IM's when online!

I have a profile like that for when I am OFFLINE, but online, I talk to everyone. Hopefully that's the implication for others as well? The only reason for the notecarding is so I actually get the message.

As for someone to build an outhouse... hrm. Good question. Personally I'd recommend Charlene Trudeau, just because I think she'd get a huge laugh out of it... say Des sent you!

Arcadia Asylum built an awesome outhouse and it's free! You can find it on SLExchange, look up Arcadia's inworld freebie shop or look me up and next time I'm inworld I can pass ya a copy.

I created a somewhat popular seaside/marina themed DOUBLE outhouse, and it is a small price. My profile will guide you to find it. Although it is not moon crescent, it features Gulls and Buoys separated outhouse, with animated brown water and sit ball. Also, you may open and close doors and toilet lids!

The drop a notecard thing has saved my butt many times after a crash. I can go in to my inventory and find the card to see who I was talking to befor SL killed me..and cleared all my IM's. Also I spend ALOT of time afk, so if I get a notecard I'll be sure to see it within a day at most, IM's..maybe, if I get back befor SL or the SIM I'm working on crashes.

I generally only respond to notecards nowadays. My IM's get capped quickly when im offline, when online I get dozens of people sending me IM's every hour, if I responded to them I would never get any content built ever. So if someone IM's me I tell them to drop me a notecard i'll get back to them, I then accumulate my notecards and deal with them in order of importance during a couple of hours in the evening. I have gone out of my way to provide info in my store to customers so I cover all the regular questions. I find that 50% of the questions I get are no longer relevant when i come to have a conversation with them, because they have actually opened their eyes, looked around and found the info they need. It also allows me to screen all the endleoss hawkers who want to sell me advertising or host their vendors with no benefit to me, or redesign my brand for me, or for me to sponsor their event or blah blah blah. When I stated screening all business related communication I found that 80% of it can be ignored, leaving more time for me to respond to customers who genuinly need my attention.

Depending on what sorts of business that content creator does, they may well be difficult or impossible to contact via IM. Every time I log on, I have a flood of stored messages from my texture vendors, telling me what sold while I was off-line. Ocassionally, especially after a weekend, that caps my incoming messages, and so I might well never see an IM that was a general customer request. But I always check my notecards folder to see if anyone dropped a notecard on me while I was out.

Dropping a notecard has another advantage, too. If you IM me while I am of-line, or while I am in the middle of doing a complex build or negotiating contract details with some other client, and if, before I can get to your IM, my client crashes, then I'll never see that IM. But I'll still have a notecard, if you sent me one.
