I edited my avatar. Then I got some freebies, and applied one of them (hair).

Three questions:

1. is there a way to preview assets in inventory before applying them? I would like to see hair before deciding to apply or not...
2. is there a way to add to inventory ONLY ONE freeby out of box, not all of them. I was not able to select a single object. I do not need to add all of them to my inventory.
3. is there a way, once applied a new style of hair, to revert to original one if I do not like them? I see no UNDO to opening an asset...

1. No. Unless it's a prim, in which case you can rezz it to the ground. Things like Skin and eyes and shapes however....no.

2. No.

3. Make the Avatar you want in appearance, and save all. Now, in your inventory you should see a folder called Body Parts containing the skin, shape, hair, and eyes used to make your "Default Avatar". Copy these pieces to another folder (I name mine "My Body";) and there you have it, a back up copy of your default avatar. Then, once you're done playing around, simply go back to your back up, and re-wear those items.

Just be sure not to edit and save over your back up copies...ok?

1. yes and no.... The normal answer is no. But, there is a way, an expensive one. Take and upload a picture into your inventory and move it to the correct folder. A lady friend of mine does this with outfits, hair and shoes so she can preview them before deciding what to wear. Cost would be 10L per photo and that can add up fast.

2. Yes. If i understand your question right, you have an object with multiple things in it.
Just rez it on the ground, right click and choose edit (some folks use "open" but edit never fails). Click "more" to display the tabs. Select the "objects" tab. Open your inventory and navigate to the folder you want to drop the 1 thing in. Find the 1 thing, on the objects tab, that you want to pull out. Drag it from the object into your inventory and release it.

3. See Joseph's reply

Well, in that way you can see ONLY your own stuff, but what about imported (or purchased) items? I really do not like inventory management. It is very raw, and you risk to fill it by a lot of useless stuff. Is there a place to discuss improvements to SecondLife?

Well. I really meant to get from a box of freebies (for example in Freebies Warehous) only a specific object, not the whole stock...

There isn't a way to get just one part of a freebie. But easiest thing to do is take the suggestion above, open the box, copy (by drag and drop) just the one item, delete the rezzed box, then delete the freebie from your inventory. Of course you can always keep the box in a folder of "junk" if you want. I do that and every now and again add the stuff in the "junk" folder to a "junk box" so that if I ever want to go through it, it's available, in one item, without much fuss.
