hello!

I'm very new to SL, though I've had the account for a while. I've looked through the knowledge base and also tried a forum search on this question, but haven't found the correct answer, I don't believe.

I might be having a myopic moment, but after obtaining some free clothing items, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the clothes out of the object that they're in!

I have other items that are categorized as "clothes" that I have no trouble using, but when I got these clothes, they came in an object. Wearing the object just puts the product box on my avatar. I can see the clothing items in the object..

I'm sure that you have all answered this question a hundred times, so I do apologize, but any help would be appreciated.

Yep. The clothes are 'boxed'.

Drag the object from your inventory to the ground then right-click the object and do Open. That'll pop up a window that shows you what's in there. Look for the "Copy To Inventory" button on that window and press it. That's it!

edit: you might have to look around to find land that allows people to rez stuff. If there's a little box icon at the top of the screen, the land you're currently on doesn't allow it. Fly around a bit until the box icon goes away.

Find somewhere you can drag the object out on the ground, then right-click on it it and choose 'Open.' You can then either copy and wear or just copy to inventory.

Actually, I still wear boxes from time to time. If the contents permit copy and the area you are in does not let you rez, then wear the item, right click it and choose edit, then go to the contents tab and just drag the contents to your inventory.

So you look like a total noob wearing the box while doing it but hey, who cares, it's just pixels right.

Go into search and type :- sandbox. These places allow anyone to rez items.
