I have just put in a support ticket to request a small parcel of "maintenance" land to be cleaned up so that the vehicle rezzing area in the same sim will become useable again.
My questions are:
1 - is Maintenance land abandoned land that has reverted to Linden ownership?
2 - is there a Jira for either:
a) this land to be owned by a different Linden so that it doesn't affect rezzing areas' prim allowance?
or
b) for this land to be automatically set as no build or autoreturn?
c) any other solution anybody has thought of?
(I did try searching Jira but it did my head in)
and question 3 ...
Does anybody know where I can get a really fast, cool-looking wearable motorbike for use in the meantime?
I have to go and cook now, but will check back later.

From: spinster Voom ...1 - is Maintenance land abandoned land that has reverted to Linden ownership? ... If its not connected to a right-of-way then yes. Maintenance land is typically no-build. When its not, its usually because the garbos haven't got around to tidying it up yet (parcel settings, etc). So I wouldn't bank on any Linden land remaining buildable for any length of time. LL are far more proactive about this than they were when I first came to SL about a year ago. I wouldn't mind being called Garbo Linden, that would be kool *shameless plug for a job* As for a wearable motorbike, I can't help. Maybe someone else here may. I do know where you can get a wearable pushbike. The store at Help Island Public. Not quite the same thing though is it /me pedals furiously down the road =)

yay! they sorted it already! From: ArchTx Edo Whatcha cooking? Are we invited over? Nothing really, I just found it frustrating. I have 512 on the edge of a road and never enough spare prims to rez vehicles. Anyway, it is now useable ... http://slurl.com/secondlife/Koleamoku/189/204/33It's right on the edge of a waterway too. ETA: I now take it back about wanting a really fast bike! Does anybody know where I can get a really SLOW but cool looking bike? lol

From: spinster Voom yay! they sorted it already! Yeah, they really are quick about that these days, but sometimes they need a support ticket (as you supplied) to find the spots that somehow didn't get set to the standard auto-return. Not sure how the whole land-reclamation process works such that this step gets omitted--I swear I've seen maintenance land already Reverted that didn't yet have the parcel flags set right, so maybe it's more manual than one would like to think, and a step just gets forgotten sometimes. From: someone I now take it back about wanting a really fast bike! Does anybody know where I can get a really SLOW but cool looking bike? lol Good plan! I can't help you with a bike, but I re-scripted a Hobo Junkwagon down to a crawl (top speed: 27 km/hr) so it can cross sim borders that leave faster vehicles in the weeds. Besides, even at a crawl, it moves way faster than anything roadside can rez.

Sim borders are only part of the problem (although I now have about 15 assorted bikes in my lost and found that went off world) - I just can't control the things at all. Doesn't help that I am not a driver in rl and have never played any of those driving games. I'm still practicing in the vehicles sandbox - I am certainly not safe on the roads yet! Oh well, I haven't had such a good laugh in quite a while
