I've read bits about this Zindra business, but as I'm not really "Into" all that, I've not really taken much interest to be honest, apart form the odd argument about the rights and wrong etc etc............
As I understood it, all the sex stuff for sale is going to have to be sold on Zindra, rather than anywhere you like.
Is this correct?
If this is the case, then two questions.
1: when is this going to come into force? 2: How the hell is the LL police going to go round every single shop in SL and check if there's nothing sexy for sale?
Are they going to rely on residents to report shops which have sex animations and equipment in after this (whenever date)
Can anyone summerise?

Mainland wise Zindra will be the only place, estates can sell adult content too.
September 15th is the day. LL have been sending emails to people based on the keywords in their parcel descriptions, so people should have been notified that they will need to move to an adult sim to continue their business.

good grief, Piggie...
All right. The short answer to your question is Yes. But there are lots and lots of possible exceptions.
For example, it doesn't HAVE to be Zindra. There are private estates with sims that are flagged Adult, and adult commercial activities can take place there.
I recommend you go back and read the Linden blogs on "Changes to Adult Content", and also sample the (very long) threads on the topic in the Further Discussions forum.

I believe it already is in force

They've stated they will handle all matters and have asked residents to not bother IM'ing LL about it.
Can anyone summerise?
I hope I have

Can anyone summerise? "They've stated they will handle all matters and have asked residents to not bother IM'ing LL about it." Like they said on the traffic-gaming blog. No need to AR, they have a handle on Sexy/violent stuff - particularly if bots are involved - is going to be so totally nuked real soon now.

Thanks.
I just was wondering as It's not really my "scene" so to speak, I was just after some basic answers rather than wading thru 100's of postings.
Just that even now I see many sex items around the place for sale randomly, (normal mainland) so just wondered if what I thought (it was going to have to be moved) was indeed going to happen.

I've been ARing a giant ad banner near my parcel for about a month now - every now and again erotic art pops up on it, or adverts for escorts or sex clubs. Its still there. So not yet. When its gone, that's when I'll say its time. Worst thing is I don't think the account that owns it even exists anymore... I AR'd a plot of land owned by a dead account and a Linden came by and abandoned the parcel - so if the adult tactic fails, I'll go for that route. If both fail, I'll just be glad the neighbor between me and that board likes brick walls...

The e-mail I got from Linden Lab told me my club had to comply with the new Adult policies by September 1.
Apparently, with a large population not complying, it was pushed back to September 15.
I suppose that if many residents aren't complying by the 15th, the deadline will be pushed back to October 1. And then October 15. And so on.
If Linden Lab actually holds to any deadline, I'm sure it will be enforced in the same efficient way the bot ban is enforced. Shut down a few people as examples early, declare victory, then forget about it.

When did they say that, Bradely? On August 24th, Blondin was answering questions about enforcment by telling us that From: someone [11:14] Blondin Linden: As AR's are submitted, we will take the appropriate action http://www.slapt.me/wiki/index.php/Zindra_Alliance_-_Blondin_Linden_Meeting_Transcript:_24-08-2009 (I'm not disputing some other Linden may well have said something different.. the left hand doesn't know what it's doing at Linden Labs, half the time, it seems, let alone what the right hand may be up to)

I'm not sure why your email mentioned September 1st, Blondin told us at this week's office hour that they had finally set a date and it was September 15th, that's the first time Blondin has mention a hard date, so it seems there was a communication breakdown somewhere......... Oh and now it's on the message of the day!

Hi Innula, I'm not real good at paying attention as to which Linden is which, so I don't have a name. I believe it was on the very first blog was rolled out about Zindra. Maybe that was to hold back the tide until the date gets closer. I'll search tomorrow for the exact posting. I'd like to see it myself if I can find it. Brad

Adult content can continue to be sold on Mature rated land.
Certain words can not be used in Mature-land listings/classifieds.
Put simply, if people are coming to your land, you can offer vendors for them to buy "adult content" but you can't attract them with adult content, or operate a primarily adult-content establishment (sex club?). You can't display "indistinguishable-from-photographic" images on mature land (photos), and you can't offer usable sex-furniture on mature land. (poseballs)
in short, vendors for adult content are supposed to be acceptable on mature land, so long as those vendors are appropriate.

Well what I've been ARing is an 8m tall billboard with 4 cycling adverts - note the rule that an adboard is limited to 8m, and that you cannot have more than 4 publicly viewable ads in a Sim.
(I might be able to argue its 5, there's a tiny one behind it advertizing the board's technology.)
Every 5-15 seconds or so the ads change - and every 4th or 5th advert is sexual in nature, half of the others are for casinos, or for nude art... - and a few of the ones for nude art display the nudity.
This adboard perfectly fills a 4x16m plot - to the parcel lines on all four sides. One of the long sides is alongside a protected road.
Not surprisingly, the parcel behind it and the parcel across the road from it never seem to sell... Even the land flippers have learned to avoid them now.
- Other than the erotic and nude content, and maybe if the tiny sign counts as a fifth advert, its exactly within the maximum limits of the adboard policy. Its like the person that always drives exactly 55mph on the freeway, not even 1 foot per hour more or less... - or the person who only has sex with people on their 18th birthday's at the exact hour they were born... Or the person who stands at the lakeside watching people drown and telling them 'sucks to be you' while holding a life-vest an inch away from their grasp... - This ad spammer is right on the line technically, but in every possible angle, such that they're way outside the spirit.
So I keep sending in screenshots that are taken when the erotic stuff has cycled on, but I guess everytime a linden is around, the other ads are cycling.
- that, or its just not yet time to care about adult content.

From: Pussycat Catnap So I keep sending in screenshots that are taken when the erotic stuff has cycled on, but I guess everytime a linden is around, the other ads are cycling. Just adding paranoia: it contains a scanner that detects when someone with last name Linden is nearby, and disables the more mature adds for 5 minutes when that happens

in short, vendors for adult content are supposed to be acceptable on mature land, so long as those vendors are appropriate. THIS. In fact Blondin stated this specifically in his OH. Furniture stores selling sex-beds? No problem. Shops selling poseballs? No problem. Just have to be careful with words in ads (For example, sex is not a banned word, threesome is. Go figure ). That is why I reopened my poseball store on mature land again, so people can find me when they did not tick the Adult box. One more thing. Try searching for sexual content when only ticking PG. That will surprise you... I would say they first start enforcing that one, before going on a crusade on mature land
